Timileyin Ajayi: "She Was Cheating; I Don’t Regret Killing Her"

In a chilling turn of events, 32-year-old Timileyin Ajayi, who was caught with the severed head of 24-year-old Salome Adaidu, has openly declared that he does not regret killing her. Ajayi claimed his actions were fueled by suspicions of infidelity, alleging that Salome had been cheating on him with other men.

His Confession

Speaking to Channels TV, Ajayi admitted to the gruesome act, saying:

“I killed her because we didn’t spend much time together. It wasn’t premeditated; it just happened that day. I discovered she was hiding things from me and chatting with other men on her phone. That’s why I acted the way I did. I don’t regret it because, in my opinion, life is reciprocal. If someone does something to you, you respond in kind.”

Ajayi further claimed that he and Salome were “compatible” and justified his actions by attempting to explain his perspective.

The Family Speaks Out

However, Salome’s family firmly denied any romantic relationship between the deceased and the suspect. Her elder sister, Esther Adaidu, expressed shock and demanded justice.

“We don’t know this Timileyin Ajayi. We’ve never seen him before. We were only informed by the police that this man murdered and dismembered my sister. I want justice to be served because he took her life in the most horrific way.”

Adding to this, Salome’s uncle, Samson Adaidu, said:

“The family discovered this through the police. He didn’t just kill her—he butchered her into more than 50 pieces. It’s as if he was preparing the body for consumption, given how he packed her remains in multiple polythene bags.”

A Tragic Loss

Salome Adaidu was a 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member serving with Nicon Insurance in Abuja. According to reports, she had visited Ajayi at his residence in the Papalana axis of New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, where the horrific incident occurred.

Police Assurance of Justice

The Nasarawa State Police Command has assured the public and Salome’s family that justice will prevail. Speaking on the matter, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, said:

“The investigation is ongoing. Once completed, the suspect will be arraigned in court for prosecution. I want to assure the public that he will not be spared if found guilty. Anyone with additional information about the suspect is encouraged to come forward.”
