Rhapsody of Realities August 10th 2025 ,BAPTISM—A TESTIMONY OF YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9). Some have asked if water baptism is enough to save a sinner. But from the Scriptures, it’s clear that salvation comes by believing in Jesus Christ and confessing Him as Lord. Water baptism, while significant, doesn’t provide the remission of sins, but it’s a testimony of one’s faith in Christ. In 1 Peter 3:21 for example, the Bible talks about water baptism, not as the removal of the filth of the flesh but as the answer of a good conscience toward God: “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 3:21). The real cleansing from sin comes through the blood of Jesus Christ. Baptism is a public testimony of faith in what happened to Jesus—His death, burial, and resurrection. When people are baptized in water, they symbolically identify with Christ’s death as they are immersed in water, and with His resurrection as they are brought out of the same water. This signifies their faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Water baptism, in itself, doesn’t bring salvation. A person can be baptized and still be lost if they have not been born again. The Bible makes it clear that salvation comes through faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism is an outward expression of that faith. PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for the gift of salvation through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. I declare my faith in His death, burial and resurrection, and I live in the consciousness of this glorious truth. My life is a testimony of my union with Christ, and I walk daily in the victory of His resurrection, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Rhapsody of Realities August 9th 2025, BLASPHEMY AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation (Mark 3:28-29). Some have asked, “God is love, and He forgives all our sins, how come He says anyone who sins against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven?” First, understand that the Lord Jesus addressed this warning to the Jews; they were the ones to whom the covenants and the Law were given. The Spirit of God had been revealed to them, and they had seen His works throughout the Old Testament. They were aware of the Holy Spirit’s role in creation, how He moved upon the waters in Genesis, and how He garnished the heavens. But despite this knowledge, when they saw Jesus perform miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit, they accused Him of working by the power of Beelzebub. Therefore, the Master warned them that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit would not be forgiven. The Holy Spirit is the One who leads a person into salvation, convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgement, and teaches and guides God’s people into all truth. Without the Holy Spirit, no one can come to God or believe in Him. Therefore, if someone blasphemes the Holy Spirit, they reject the very One who is meant to guide and lead them in the things of God. To blaspheme the Holy Spirit requires a deep knowledge of God’s Word and the things of the Spirit. It takes someone who knows who the Holy Spirit is to sin against the Holy Spirit. That’s why it’s rare to find someone who’s been a true Christian sin against the Holy Spirit. It’s very rare because to do that is to intentionally disdain the Spirit of grace. The Bible explains this further in Hebrews 10:28-29: “He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?” It further shows that it’s not just any person who can do this but one with full knowledge of the truth, yet chooses to despise and disparage the Spirit of Truth. PRAYER*Dear Father, thank you for the precious Holy Spirit who convicts, teaches and guides me into all truth. I acknowledge and honour His work in my life and around the world, yielding myself fully to His guidance and blessings. I walk in wisdom and understanding, continually growing in the knowledge of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Rhapsody of Realities August 8th 2025, OUR OPPORTUNITY IS NOW

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent me, because there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end (John 9:4 NLT). There’re Christians who mistakenly believe they will have more opportunities to serve the Lord after the Rapture, but this notion is incorrect. According to the Scriptures, the Millennial Kingdom, or the 1,000 years of peace, is not primarily about us. It’s a period ordained by God for Israel. God promised them that time of peace, and they’ll indeed receive it. The Jewish calendar, suspended for 2,000 years, will resume for a final seven-year period leading into the Millennial reign. Following this, Jesus will return from heaven and set up His headquarters in Jerusalem, reigning not only as King of the Jews, but as King over the entire world. David will also return to reign over Israel, while Jesus reigns over the world. We’ll be with Jesus, reigning with Him, ensuring everything runs smoothly. So, our ministry does not operate during the millennium; instead, our service at that time would be to the Lord Jesus Christ. Our role throughout the millennium will be to perform angelic duties. The ministers during the Millennial Kingdom will predominantly be the Jews who’d be fulfilling prophecies and promises made to their nation, much as we have done over the past 2,000 years. While with Jesus, carrying out angelic functions, it’ll be a magnificent time in preparation for the great judgment, where we would even judge angels. Afterwards, we will move into the holy city and inhabit the new earth. Glory be to God! This is why we must attach a sense of urgency and responsibility to fulfilling our calling here on earth. This is our window of opportunity to carry out our divine ministry. After the trumpet sounds and we’re caught up from here to meet the Lord in the air as the Bible reveals in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, the earthly opportunities for ministry and service will come to an end. I urge you today to be diligent and faithful in fulfilling your purpose and calling while you still have the opportunity. Think like Paul the apostle, who said, “If I proclaim the Message, it’s not to get something out of it for myself. I’m compelled to do it, and doomed if I don’t” (1 Corinthians 9:16 MSG). Prioritize your spiritual assignments, knowing that your actions today carry eternal significance and rewards. PRAYER*Dear Father, thank you for your grace at work in me to be diligent and faithful in leading souls to Christ. I’m convinced that the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation; therefore, I’m committed to its spread around the world, taking advantage of the opportunity available now, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Rhapsody of Realities August 7th 2025, THE GOSPEL TRANSFORMS LIVES

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…(Romans 1:16). When the Gospel of Jesus Christ is ministered and people truly believe, it produces a transformation in their lives. If, for example, someone who’s been wayward genuinely receives the Gospel, that’ll be the end of the wayward lifestyle. However, there’s the renewing of the mind that must take place. The same goes for someone who was a thief but has received Christ. The person will be transformed. Ephesians 4:28 says, “Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.” Likewise, if a lady used to engage in prostitution but she is now born again, her body becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit, meaning she can’t continue in that life because she now belongs to God and must glorify God in her body and in her spirit. She must now find a decent job as we read in Ephesians 4:28. She has to work with her hands that which is good, because prostitution is not good. Furthermore, such people must be reminded of what happened when they gave their lives to Christ; they were washed, sanctified, and justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God (1 Corinthians 6:11). This is why it’s important to preach the true Gospel: it brings people out of darkness into light, into the liberty of the sons of God. It changes people. It lifts them. It delivers them. So, they need to constantly be reminded of this and be taught and encouraged to study the Word of God for themselves and listen to messages that’ll further inform, enlighten and educate their spirits about righteousness and their new life in Christ. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the power of the Gospel that transforms lives and delivers men and women from darkness into your marvellous light. As many hear your Word today, they’re established in the truth and in the liberty of the Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. I see myself in great and glorious possibilities. The God-kind of life in me is all I require to live above sickness and infirmity of the body or mind. I dwell in health all the days of my life. The Lord has given His angels charge over me to keep me. Nothing can hurt me by any means. I am surrounded on every side by the goodness of God. I am protected from every form of evil and I am impervious to anything that binds, hurts, or kills. I am vibrant and spirited because I enjoy divine health every day, all year round. I do not wane with age; rather my strength is renewed daily like that of an eagle. I have entered into the zone of agelessness, deathlessness, and wantlessness. God’s divine nature takes absolute pre-eminence over my spirit, soul, and body. I refuse to let any contrary condition take root in me or affect anything that concerns me. I fear no adversary, for Christ has already obtained victory over the enemy and all his strategies. My body is a reflection of the beauty and perfection of God because I am His glory. I endlessly flourish in health, abundance, prosperity, and supernatural favor. I am always making progress because the God-life in me has fashioned me for a life of perpetual victory and glory in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Speak in tongues.

Rhapsody of Realities August 4th 2025, THE GREATEST NEWS OF THE GOSPEL

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive (1 Corinthians 15:21-22). Did you know that when Jesus died on the Cross, the whole world was on that cross with Him? Every human being was crucified in Him because He was the Saviour of the world. He took the place of every sinner, every human being who lives or has ever lived. Romans 5:12 says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Adam was the first man, and through his disobedience, sin entered the world. As a result, spiritual death, which is separation from God, passed upon all men. From Adam, sin spread to humanity, affecting everyone born into this world. But Jesus was crucified in our behalf. His crucifixion meant that every human being was crucified in Him because He took their place. That’s why we must tell everyone that their sins have already been paid for in Jesus Christ. The price was settled in His death. However, paying for sin only saved humanity from its punishment; it didn’t save man from the life of sin. Christ’s death settled the charges against you, which is vital, but it didn’t reconcile you to God. The great news of the Gospel is not just that Jesus died. Of course, His death was fundamental, but the more glorious part is His resurrection. Without the resurrection, there would be no eternal life and no righteousness. The true message of salvation is based on the resurrection of Jesus. That’s where Christianity comes from. That’s where our life is from: “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). Christianity is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. It’s the celebration of the life of victory, righteousness, faith, hope and love in Christ Jesus. Glory to God! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection. Through His death, the charges against me were settled, and through His resurrection, I have eternal life. I walk in the reality of this divine life, free from sin and its dominion. I celebrate the victory of Christ in me, living in righteousness, power, and dominion today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY‭‭‭Romans 4:23-25 KJV‬Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; 24 but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; ‭25 who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification. ‭‭‭2 Corinthians 5:19-21 KJV‬to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. ‭‭‭Romans 6:3-4 KJV‬Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Rhapsody of Realities August 3rd 2025, WISDOM IS GREATER THAN INTELLIGENCE

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it (Proverbs 8:11). Satan and his demons are very intelligent, but they’re not wise. There’s a huge difference between intelligence and wisdom. When you’re intelligent, you have a high-powered reasoning faculty. You’re smart. You can think in a flash; you’re calculative and analytical, and your brain works smart. But wisdom is different. Wisdom is a revelation; it’s got nothing to do with your brain. Wisdom is insight into reality. Being born again, Christ is your wisdom: “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom…” (1 Corinthians 1:30). You don’t function with mere human intelligence but with divine wisdom. Intelligence, at its best, is grossly limited. 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 says, “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Did you see that? Satan and his princes don’t know everything. They don’t know everything about you or your future. Satan may be able to observe and interpret patterns in human behaviour, but he doesn’t have insight into realities. He doesn’t possess the ability to foresee your every move unless you reveal it to him through your words or actions. By walking in divine wisdom, you can navigate your life in a way that blindsides Satan and his demons, keeping you secure and firmly rooted in God’s purpose. So, refuse to live by the intelligence, systems, structures, and economics of this world. Choose to walk in wisdom. Meditate on the Word and listen to the Holy Spirit within you, for the Word of God is the wisdom of God, and Christ is your wisdom. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for granting me divine wisdom, insight into realities. I’m filled with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. I walk in victory and divine insight today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDY:James 1:5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. Rhapsody of Realities August 2nd 2025, A LESSON FROM EPAPHRAS

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12). Epaphras wasn’t a pastor, prophet, apostle, or deacon; yet he had this remarkable testimony as one who always laboured fervently in prayers for the saints. The phrase “labouring fervently” is translated from the Greek word “agōnizomai,” which means to strive, struggle, or contend, particularly in the face of opposition. This is the same word used in 1 Timothy 6:12, which says, “Fight the good fight of faith….” It gives us an idea about prayer as a warfare, a fight. Epaphras was “fighting” in the spirit, contending for the saints to stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. This kind of prayer is intense and unwavering. It’s not about asking God for material things but standing in the gap for others, ensuring they remain firm in God’s purpose for their lives. Have you ever prayed like that? Have you fought in prayers for Christians in your church, your city and your nation? You can’t be a true soul winner without this kind of dedication in prayer. It requires persistence, fervency and deep passion. This is where the evangelicals of old got the expression “prayer warriors” from; this kind of prayer is a battle for the souls of men. Like Epaphras, be that “warrior” in prayer who ensures that others stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. Even right now, pray earnestly for fellow Christians in your church, city, and around the world, especially those facing trials, opposition, or struggles in their walk of faith; that they may be strengthened with might by God’s Spirit in their inner man. Declare that they are rooted and established in God’s truth, unwavering in their commitment to the Gospel, and empowered to rise above every difficulty as they walk in victory, faith, and boldness. If you pray for them this way, consistently, they’ll surely stand firm and immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, I pray right now for Christians around the world, especially those who are facing challenges and persecutions as a result of their faith in Christ; they stand perfect and complete in all your will, and their love for you grows stronger by the day. Their convictions remain unshaken, and they fulfil their divine destiny with joy and perseverance, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Rhapsody of Realities August 1st 2025, THE BEAUTY OF THE GOSPEL

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19). It’s normal to describe the people of the world, those who haven’t received salvation, as sinners. However, it’s important to know that they were not made sinners by their own actions but by Adam’s transgression. Romans 5:12 explains this some more; it says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” That means all were made sinners because of Adam’s disobedience. But the beauty of the Gospel is this: Just as one man’s disobedience made many sinners, so also, through the obedience of one man, Jesus Christ, many are made righteous: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” (Romans 5:19).Blessed be God! This is the Gospel we’ve been sent to preach: a Gospel of life and righteousness. Don’t try to convince people that they are sinners. Instead, let them know why they needed salvation in the first place; it was Adam’s transgression; it brought death into the world and that death was passed into everything. But thanks be unto God; our Lord Jesus Christ brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). He was made sin for us who knew no sin so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). 1 John 5:11 says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” This is the Gospel: It’s the message of life, victory and righteousness in Christ Jesus. This is the message we must proclaim to the whole world. Hallelujah! CONFESSIONIn Christ, I have received life, victory and righteousness; I am justified in Him. Thank you, Lord, for the glorious Gospel that brings salvation and illuminates the hearts of men with the knowledge of Christ’s finished works. I walk in the fullness of life and reign in righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Rhapsody of Realities July 31st 2025, OUR UNIQUE ASSIGNMENTS IN THE MILLENNIUM

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment. And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land (Isaiah 32:1-2). Our theme scripture is prophetic about the Millennium. The latter part alludes to the unique role we (the Church) would be playing in the millennial reign, when Israel takes center stage. The millennial reign of Christ is not for the Church. It’s for Israel. So, what are we, the Church, going to be doing then? We’re going to be carrying out angelic assignments. Our role at the millennial reign of Christ is very different from what a lot of people think; it’s going to be much like what the angels do today in ministering for us. In that day, the Jews will walk in the Millennial blessings that characterize the life of the saints which we have now, while we, the Church, will function like the angels, arriving suddenly, disappearing, moving to specific places to carry out angelic ministrations as directed by God. It’s going to be super exciting; it’s another class of ministry. We’re not going to be dealing with people, trying to carry out physical administrative functions as priests, no! The priests of those days shall be the Jews. But until then, in these last days, in these present moments, what does God expect of us? He has given us a Kingdom to run, and He expects us to run it for Him effectively in this time. It has taken almost 2,000 years to arrive at this point, and the Lord is expectant. James 5:7-8 says, “…Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it…Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” What we just read gives us a vivid picture: God is waiting for the precious fruit of the earth, the souls of men. This is what He expects in these closing moments of the Church age, a great influx of souls from all nations. So, win souls like never before. The fields are ripe with harvest, and you’re the labourer, thrust into the fields by the Lord to bring in the end time harvest. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the privilege of serving you and fulfilling your purpose in these last days. I yield myself completely to your plans, prepared and ready to carry out your assignments with diligence, excellence, and joy. I am effective in running the Kingdom you have given to us, bringing in the precious fruit of the earth as we prepare for the coming of the Lord. Amen. Rhapsody of Realities 30th July, 2025, THE GLORIOUS ASCENSION OF JESUS

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven (Luke 24:51). The Ascension of Jesus is the biggest event to ever happen in this world. Acts 1:9 gives us a detailed account of how it happened: “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.” His disciples were looking at Him as He ascended. They were watching Him go up into the clouds. Jesus didn’t just suddenly vanish; His disciples were there, watching Him as He levitated. If you were there that day, how would you have described such an experience? You would have been so shocked; you might not have been able to speak for days. That’s exactly what happened to the disciples. What they saw was the proof of something Jesus had told them earlier in John 6. When He was preaching, some of His disciples were offended when He said, “…my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed” (John 6:55). His words were hard for many to accept, and as a result, many of His disciples stopped following Him. Jesus then asked the twelve disciples, “…Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?” (John 6:61-62). And there was no response. But eventually, right before their eyes, it happened. They saw those words come to pass. What they witnessed was too weighty for words. They had already been having difficulty convincing people of His resurrection. They were called liars for declaring Jesus was alive. And now, they had witnessed His ascension. It wasn’t like Elijah who was taken up by a whirlwind with a chariot of fire. This was different. The churches, Christians, and preachers haven’t emphasized the Ascension of Jesus enough. We often read about it and assume everyone understands it. But this was the biggest event that ever occurred on Earth. The resurrection is crucial because our salvation is based on it, but the Ascension is proof of something even more remarkable: His supreme authority, dominion, lordship and eternal reign. Blessed be God. PRAYERDear Father, I thank you for the magnificent ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ, which demonstrated His supreme authority, dominion, lordship and eternal reign. I rejoice that I am seated with Him in heavenly places, far above all principalities and powers. Thank you for the victory and authority I have in His Name. Amen. Rhapsody of Realities July 29th 2025, KEEP FILLING UP THE CLOUDS

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth…(Ecclesiastes 11:3). There’s something you need to understand about prayer and how certain types of prayers work. Some prayers must be accumulated before they start producing results. They must be built up. The Bible says, “If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth….” You don’t just pray and then leave off for two or three days before you pray again. No! Every day, you heap prayer upon prayer. Every day, you add some more. And then, you add some more, and some more, until you reach the climax where the results burst forth like a gusher, blowing the lid open. That’s when things start happening; it’s like a harvest of prayers. That harvest can continue for a long time. However, that doesn’t mean you stop praying during that time. No. There are always other things to pray about. This kind of prayer is deeply spiritual and involves much praying in the spirit. Every day, you’re filling up the cloud. Sometimes, the Spirit of God can lead you to fast for a certain number of days because He wants you to keep filling up your cloud. It’s not so much about staying away from food; that’s not what He’s getting at. Rather, it’s about focusing your attention on the Spirit and having the kind of meditation and prayer that conditions your spirit for the work He wants to do in you, for you or through you. So, learn to persevere in prayer as the Bible says: “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Keep storing up deposits of prayers in your prayer-cloud, and as the Word declares, “If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth.” CONFESSIONAs I pray consistently in the spirit, I’m filling up the clouds in anticipation of a harvest of answers to my prayers. My spirit is conditioned to know and walk in God’s perfect will, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. The Untold Story Behind Charly Boy Bus Stop: Charly Boy Speaks Out

Renowned Nigerian performer and social activist, Charles Oputa, widely recognized as Charly Boy, has shared the background story behind the naming of the iconic Charly Boy Bus Stop in Lagos—an area recently renamed by local authorities. During an interview on “The Morning Brief”, a breakfast show aired by Channels Television, the entertainer recounted how the bus stop located in the Gbagada axis of Lagos was originally named in his honor back in the early 1990s. According to Charly Boy, the naming was a gesture of appreciation from the residents for his consistent contribution to the local community. He explained that the recognition stemmed from the deep connection he had with Gbagada residents during that period. His philanthropic efforts, which impacted people across different sectors of society—including military veterans, commercial motorcyclists, pensioners, and students—led the locals to name the bus stop after him as a token of gratitude. “There was a time I actually lived near that bus stop,” Charly Boy recalled. “During the early 90s, those who were living around Gbagada decided it was appropriate to name the bus stop after me due to the value I added to the community.” He elaborated further: “Many categories of people—okada riders, pensioners, military personnel, and even ordinary citizens—benefited from me in various ways. I gave out scholarships to help young people further their education. I don’t usually like to brag about what I’ve done or haven’t done, but I really did my best for that community when I was still residing there. That’s why they honored me by naming the place ‘Charly Boy Bus Stop.’” In a related development, LMSINT MEDIA notes that the Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) recently made headlines after renaming the legendary Charly Boy Bus Stop in Lagos in favor of indigenous hip-hop star and record executive, Olamide.

Nigerian Farmers Protest Rice and Maize Import Policy Amid Falling Food Prices

Overview: A wave of dissatisfaction is sweeping across Nigeria’s agricultural sector as local farmers voice deep frustration over the federal government’s growing support for food imports—especially rice and maize. This comes after a significant dip in market prices for these staples, largely due to import waivers that have flooded local markets with foreign grains. Farmers Cry Out Over Import Surge Across social media and agricultural forums, many Nigerian farmers have openly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policy, which they say is undermining local grain cultivation. Using platforms like X (formerly Twitter), they argue that the administration’s decision to approve mass food imports—particularly of rice and maize—is threatening the survival of indigenous agriculture. What’s Causing the Price Drop? The decline in rice and maize prices across Nigeria is no accident. The root cause, according to local producers, is the 150-day import duty waiver introduced by the federal government in July 2024. This policy allowed for the duty-free import of essential staples including rice, maize, and other food items, leading to a surge in foreign alternatives and a drastic drop in prices. According to Nigeria Customs Comptroller-General, Bashir Adeniyi, this policy significantly contributed to price reductions in the first quarter of 2025. Market Realities: Local vs. Foreign Prices A market survey conducted by LMSINT MEDIA revealed the following: This pricing gap makes it almost impossible for local farmers to compete, thereby shrinking their profit margins and pushing many to consider abandoning cultivation altogether. Rising Fertilizer Costs Deepen the Crisis The farmers’ woes don’t stop at imports. Many are also grappling with a sharp rise in fertilizer prices, which has increased the cost of production. This means even with reduced earnings from their harvests, they are paying more to produce. Expert Opinion: Prof. Oyedokun Warns of Policy Fallout Speaking with LMSINT MEDIA, Prof. Godwin Oyedokun of Lead City University, Ibadan, stressed that the growing preference for imports over local production has severe long-term consequences. “Favorable import policies result in market oversupply, driving down prices and severely affecting local farmers who cannot compete,” he explained. Oyedokun emphasized that ignoring these concerns could derail the nation’s food security and economic stability. He recommended a multi-step approach: Solutions for Sustainable Local Agriculture ✅ Incentivize Local Farming The government must provide financial support, credit access, and agricultural technology to encourage local grain production. ✅ Implement Import Tariffs Introducing or increasing tariffs on imported rice and maize could help local producers gain a competitive edge. ✅ Quality Assurance Enforcing strict quality standards on imports would increase consumer confidence in Nigerian-grown grains. ✅ Enhance Market Access Farmers should be given better access to structured markets where they can sell at fair prices. ✅ Farmer Training and Education Equip local farmers with modern farming techniques to boost productivity and reduce dependence on imports. What This Means for Nigeria’s Economy While the policy may offer short-term relief in food prices for consumers, its long-term impact on local agriculture could be devastating. A balanced approach is necessary—one that considers both consumer affordability and the sustainability of domestic food production. Inflation Report: Mixed Signals Despite the dip in general inflation, food-related inflation remains a concern. According to recent data from LMSINT MEDIA in June 2025: This contradiction highlights the instability of food pricing and the urgent need for sound agricultural policies. Conclusion: Farmers Need a Voice in Policy-Making Nigerian farmers are not just resisting change—they are fighting for survival. If the government continues to sideline local producers in favor of foreign imports, the nation could face serious agricultural and economic setbacks. Policymakers must engage directly with stakeholders in the farming community to co-create solutions that ensure both affordability for consumers and profitability for local producers.
