Chadian President Mahamat Deby made the announcement through his official social media channels, explaining that the suspension aligned with international diplomatic norms based on reciprocity. According to him, the move was not merely administrative but rooted in protecting the country’s dignity and national pride. Similarly, on December 25, 2025, Niger announced a complete halt to visa issuance for US citizens and barred American nationals from entering the country.
