Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has opened up about Amad Diallo’s frustration following his substitution in the thrilling Premier League encounter against Liverpool at Anfield. Speaking after the match, Amorim praised the Ivorian winger for his impressive contribution during the clash with Arne Slot’s side. He noted that Diallo’s reaction was born out of passion and hunger to help his team succeed, rather than dissatisfaction with the decision itself. According to Amorim, Diallo had shown great energy, skill, and attacking intent before being withdrawn in the second half. The Portuguese tactician explained that the substitution was purely tactical, aimed at maintaining defensive balance and preserving their lead in the high-tempo match. “Amad was upset when I took him off, but that’s because he wanted to continue fighting for the team,” Amorim said. “He’s a talented player with a strong mentality, and I’m happy with his performance. These emotions show how much he cares about the game and the club.” Manchester United went on to defeat Liverpool 2-0, with Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire finding the back of the net to secure a crucial win at Anfield. The victory marks a significant moment for Amorim’s side, who have been striving to regain consistency and momentum in the Premier League. Diallo, who has been working hard to cement his place in United’s starting lineup, continues to earn praise from fans and pundits alike for his creativity and pressing ability. Despite his visible frustration, Amorim reassured supporters that the player remains a vital part of his long-term plans at the club. “He’s a young player with enormous potential,” Amorim added. “It’s normal for players to be emotional, especially when they are giving everything on the pitch. What matters most is his commitment and the way he responds in the next games.” With Manchester United’s next fixtures coming thick and fast, Amorim’s man-management and ability to maintain squad harmony will be crucial. Fans are optimistic that this renewed fighting spirit could spark a positive run of form in the weeks ahead.
Real Madrid climbed back to the summit of the LaLiga table on Sunday after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Getafe. The game, held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, was full of tense moments and decisive plays that showcased the resilience of Carlo Ancelotti’s men. The match remained goalless for much of the contest, with both teams displaying strong defensive organization. However, the game’s momentum shifted dramatically late in the second half when Getafe’s substitute, Allan Nyom, received a red card less than a minute after entering the pitch. That sending-off proved costly for the visitors. In the immediate aftermath, Kylian Mbappé capitalized on a defensive lapse to slot home the winning goal — a strike that ensured Los Blancos reclaimed their position at the top of the Spanish league standings. Mbappé’s Impact and Madrid’s Title Ambition Mbappé’s performance once again underlined his growing influence at Real Madrid since joining the club. His ability to find crucial goals in high-pressure moments has made him an indispensable asset in their LaLiga title chase. The victory also reflects Madrid’s determination to maintain dominance despite facing stiff competition from rivals like Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. With several fixtures still to play, this narrow win could prove pivotal in the title race. Getafe’s Missed Opportunity For Getafe, the defeat was a disappointing setback after a promising run of form. Their disciplined approach unraveled following the red card incident, leaving them vulnerable to Madrid’s relentless pressure. Coach José Bordalás will likely stress improved composure and discipline in upcoming matches. What’s Next for Real Madrid Real Madrid’s focus now shifts to their next LaLiga fixture, as they aim to build on this momentum and extend their lead atop the table. Popular Nigerian actress and trained engineer, Etinosa Idemudia, has stirred online reactions following her statement that acting is more tasking than engineering. The actress made this revelation during her appearance on the Bold Enough To Say It podcast, where she shared insights from her dual career experience in both fields. Etinosa, who holds a degree in Engineering, revealed that while engineering demands technical knowledge and problem-solving skills, acting requires a deeper level of emotional and mental energy. She emphasized that stepping into different characters and bringing fictional roles to life involves immense concentration, preparation, and emotional investment—qualities that often go unnoticed by viewers. “From my experience as an engineer and an actor, I can boldly say acting is more demanding. Engineering challenges your intellect, but acting challenges your emotions and mind every single day,” she explained during the interview. The statement sparked mixed reactions across social media platforms, with fans and fellow entertainers sharing their opinions. Some agreed with her stance, noting that acting involves creativity, emotional intelligence, and physical energy, while others argued that engineering’s technical and analytical demands make it the more difficult profession. Etinosa’s bold comparison has reignited conversations about the realities of the Nigerian entertainment industry, where actors often work under intense schedules and limited production resources to deliver quality content. Her perspective sheds light on how entertainment can be just as challenging as traditional technical professions. Despite the controversy surrounding her opinion, Etinosa’s comments have brought attention to the dedication and resilience required to succeed in Nollywood. Her statement serves as a reminder that behind the glamour and fame, acting is an art form that requires both passion and discipline. For those unfamiliar, Etinosa Idemudia is a celebrated Nollywood actress, filmmaker, and content creator known for her outstanding performances in several hit films and TV series. Before her rise to fame, she worked as an engineer—proving her versatility and intellectual depth.
The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has once again emphasized that he does not support or subscribe to the ideology of Biafra separatism. Speaking during an exclusive interview with Channels Television on Sunday, Governor Soludo clarified his long-standing stance on the matter, stating that his vision for the southeastern region of Nigeria is one of unity, progress, and development within the framework of a united Nigeria. Soludo’s Clarification on the Biafra Issue During the interview, Soludo reaffirmed that while he understands the frustrations and grievances expressed by some people in the southeast, he does not believe that secession or division is the solution. According to him, meaningful dialogue, economic empowerment, and political inclusion remain the best path forward for Ndigbo and Nigeria at large. He stated: “I do not believe in the separatist view of Biafra. What I believe in is creating a prosperous, peaceful, and inclusive Southeast that thrives as an integral part of Nigeria.” The governor also expressed readiness to engage in constructive discussions with the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, upon his release. Soludo revealed that such dialogue would focus on finding an alternative vision for the Igbo nation — one rooted in peace, progress, and sustainable development. Dialogue and Development Over Division Professor Soludo stressed that his goal is to channel the energy and passion of the Igbo youth toward productive ventures that can transform the region economically. He reiterated that building infrastructure, attracting investors, and promoting education and innovation are more viable ways to address the region’s challenges than pursuing separation. He maintained that if Nnamdi Kanu is eventually released, discussions between both parties could lead to a new developmental roadmap for Igboland — one that emphasizes unity, creativity, and cooperation with the federal government. Soludo’s statement continues to generate discussions among political observers and citizens across Nigeria. Many view his stance as a pragmatic approach that seeks a balance between Igbo identity and national cohesion.
The organisation Network Against Corruption and Trafficking (NACAT) has again raised alarm over the ongoing incarceration of journalist‐activist Fejiro Oliver. On 16 October 2025, the Federal High Court, Asaba Division in Delta State granted bail to Mr Oliver. Despite this court order, while his legal team worked to complete the bail conditions, the Sheriff Oborevwori-led Delta State government reportedly secured a warrant to have Mr Oliver reproduced before Magistrate Court 3 in Asaba. NACAT argues that such a progression — going from a federal court’s bail decision to a subsequent warrant in a lower magistrate court — undermines the supremacy of the federal judiciary and raises concerns of misuse of legal procedure. In its statement, the organisation asserted that the moment Mr Oliver fulfills the conditions of the bail order, he must be released without further delay. It warned that any additional legal manoeuvring may amount to what it describes as “courtroom politics.” NACAT further appealed to the National Judicial Council (NJC), the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and other relevant institutions to guarantee that due process is observed and that the judiciary remains independent and impartial. The organisation’s stand highlights the broader implications for press freedom, rule of law and citizens’ rights in Nigeria, emphasising that when legal systems are seen as tools for political ends, democracy itself suffers.
Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the executive governor of Anambra State, has proudly declared that the security situation across the state has significantly improved, assuring residents that “everybody can now sleep with their eyes closed.” The governor made this known during an exclusive interview on Sunday Politics, a programme aired on Channels Television and monitored by Daily Post Nigeria. According to Soludo, the state has witnessed remarkable progress in tackling insecurity, restoring peace, and ensuring that the lives and properties of citizens are adequately protected. He emphasized that Anambra, which was once considered unsafe due to the activities of criminal gangs, has now become a peaceful and secure environment for both residents and visitors. “I can confidently say that Anambra is safer now than ever before. People can now sleep peacefully without fear. We have worked tirelessly to restore security in our communities,” the governor stated. Governor Soludo highlighted his administration’s continuous efforts in reinforcing local security architecture, collaborating with law enforcement agencies, and empowering local vigilante groups to maintain peace across all local government areas. He further explained that through intelligence gathering and strategic partnerships with community leaders, the state government has successfully curbed criminal activities such as kidnapping, armed robbery, and cult-related violence that previously threatened the safety of citizens. The Anambra governor reiterated that his government will not relent in its mission to sustain the peace and security already established. He assured the people that the administration remains committed to making the state a hub for business, investment, and tourism in the Southeast region. “Security is the foundation for development. Once people feel safe, businesses thrive, and communities grow stronger. That’s exactly what we are building in Anambra State,” Soludo added. The statement has generated reactions from citizens and political analysts who commend the governor’s approach to tackling insecurity through community-driven initiatives and accountability. Many residents across major towns like Awka, Onitsha, and Nnewi have also confirmed noticeable improvement in night patrols, security checkpoints, and crime prevention measures in recent months. Governor Soludo concluded by urging residents to continue supporting the government’s security initiatives, emphasizing that safety is a collective responsibility that requires the cooperation of everyone living in the state.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially terminated the 43-kilometre Port Harcourt–Aba Road project previously awarded to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) due to what it described as unsatisfactory project performance. The Minister of Works, David Umahi, made this announcement on Sunday while addressing journalists shortly after he inspected the highway project. Umahi expressed the government’s disappointment, emphasizing that the project’s slow progress and poor execution standards were unacceptable for such a vital infrastructure connecting two major commercial hubs in southern Nigeria. According to the minister, the Port Harcourt–Aba expressway is a strategic economic route that serves not just Rivers and Abia States but also contributes significantly to trade and transportation across the South-South and South-East regions. Umahi stressed that the federal government cannot continue to tolerate inefficiency, especially when it concerns key national projects aimed at improving mobility, commerce, and safety. He further revealed that the termination of the CCECC contract was in line with the government’s commitment to ensuring accountability and quality delivery in road construction. “We have given ample time for the contractor to meet the set milestones, but the results have been below expectations,” he stated. Umahi added that the Ministry of Works will re-award the project to a more competent construction company capable of meeting the government’s standards and deadlines. He reassured citizens that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to transforming Nigeria’s road network and ensuring that contractors deliver value for taxpayers’ money. The minister’s visit also highlighted ongoing challenges such as flooding, drainage system failures, and substandard materials that have contributed to the project’s setbacks. He assured that the government will introduce stricter monitoring mechanisms for all future road projects to prevent similar lapses. This move is part of a broader national infrastructure reform drive aimed at boosting transportation efficiency, supporting regional integration, and fostering economic growth across Nigeria.
The Lagos State Government has officially sealed off a construction site designated for a proposed cemetery located within the Bode Thomas residential area of Surulere. This decisive action followed strong resistance and protests from residents of the Natufe and Animashaun community, who voiced deep environmental and health concerns over the project. On Saturday morning, despite heavy rainfall, concerned residents gathered in a peaceful demonstration, carrying placards and expressing their dissatisfaction. According to them, the establishment of a cemetery within a densely populated residential environment poses serious risks to public health and sanitation. They warned that the burial ground could potentially contaminate underground water sources, including the boreholes that many residents rely on for drinking water and domestic use. Such contamination, they argued, could expose the community to severe health issues. Several demonstrators also urged the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources to intervene swiftly and ensure that the site remains permanently sealed to prevent future health crises. Residents further emphasized that while they respect the need for burial grounds within the city, placing a cemetery in a closely populated residential zone violates urban planning standards and endangers both the environment and the wellbeing of inhabitants. In response to the public protest, Lagos State environmental officials promptly visited the area to assess the situation. After evaluating the residents’ complaints and inspecting the site, authorities sealed the property to stop further construction activities pending official review. This move by the Lagos State Government highlights its continued commitment to enforcing environmental regulations and ensuring that development projects within residential zones comply with the state’s urban and environmental safety standards. As of the time of filing this report, the government has yet to announce whether the proposed cemetery project will be relocated or permanently scrapped.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness (Hebrews 3:8). Cultivating a very rich and focused relationship with the Holy Spirit is essential for your spiritual growth and maturity. The Holy Spirit lives in you; He guides and leads you into all truth. Recognizing His voice and responding appropriately would transform your walk with Him and help you fulfil His purpose for your life gloriously. Maybe you’ve been out talking with someone, and afterwards, the Holy Spirit says to you, “You talked too much today. You shouldn’t have said the things you said.” Don’t brush it off, thinking it’s just your mind. Take that simple correction seriously and thank Him for it. That way, you’re encouraging His ministry in your life. Some ignore His promptings and get into trouble eventually. But His desire is always to help you avert every danger that might be lurking ahead. Isaiah 30:21 (NIV) says, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.” Today, that voice is not behind you; it’s inside you. When you hear His voice within you telling you what you should do or not do, act swiftly. Train yourself to recognize and respond to His voice. It’s easy to know His voice because He gives you guidance and direction in line with the Word. Everything He tells you sides with the Word. Sadly, some continue to resist and ignore His voice. The result of that is stagnation and failure. Month after month, they remain the same, stuck in a cycle without progress, immature in their spiritual walk. Spiritual maturity is marked by sensitivity to the Holy Spirit. Mature Christians yield quickly to His correction and instruction. They understand that the Spirit’s guidance is vital for effective Christian living and spiritual growth. Therefore, they respond quickly to His guidance and voice with humility. Hallelujah! PRAYER*Dear Father, thank you for giving me a heart that’s sensitive to your Word and to your voice. Through the guidance and promptings of the Holy Spirit, I live an excellent life that’s fully pleasing to you as I fulfil my destiny in Christ. Your wisdom fills my heart, and your love flows freely through me as I walk in sync with the Spirit, growing in maturity, grace and purpose, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. In a thrilling Saturday encounter, Al-Nassr decimated Al-Fateh by a convincing 5-1 margin. The spotlight, however, was stolen not just by the margin but by the captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, who once again turned the spotlight on himself with another historic landmark. By scoring in this match, Ronaldo cemented an extraordinary feat: he is now the first footballer in history to net 800 goals in club competition. This milestone spans five clubs in his decorated journey Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al-Nassr confirming his standing as one of the greatest goal scorers ever witnessed. At age 40, many would have expected a gradual fade, but Ronaldo continues to defy expectations. His 800th club goal is testament to his enduring fitness, dedication, and undiminished clinical edge in front of goal. A Milestone Across Clubs Ronaldo’s journey to 800 club goals is remarkable not only for the number but for the variety of jerseys he has worn along the path. His tally is distributed across several elite clubs: That he achieved this at an age when many forwards have hung up their boots adds extra weight to this feat. What This Means in the Broader Context This milestone is more than just another record. It highlights Ronaldo’s: Various media outlets celebrated the news widely, reflecting how unique this achievement is.
Rúben Amorim, the manager of Manchester United, has firmly refuted speculation that young talents Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee will depart the club during the upcoming January transfer window. Press reports had suggested that limited game time under Amorim’s stewardship could prompt their exit. Mainoo and Zirkzee, despite being highly regarded, have seen little regular first-team action this season. Observers have connected their restricted minutes with rumours of a January move away from Old Trafford. However, Amorim has dismissed such suggestions, emphasising that both players remain part of his squad plans and that the club intends to retain its promising assets through the winter window. Why the duo are currently on the fringes Although both players had promising bursts of form previously, their reduced involvement this term appears linked to tactical shifts and squad competition under Amorim. The Portuguese coach has employed a different system, aiming to raise standards and prioritise match-fitness, cohesion and game-specific roles. As a result, younger players like Mainoo and Zirkzee have found consistent minutes harder to come by. Amorim’s public stance on the pair In a recent pre-match press conference, Amorim made it clear he values the club’s home-grown and emerging talent. Regarding one young midfielder he stated: “I’m really happy with him, he’s improving… our idea is always to keep the best players and the players that we build for this club.” While this quote referred directly to Mainoo and another academy product, the message aligns with his broader comments about squad retention. Implications for January and beyond By publicly denying that Mainoo or Zirkzee are leaving in January, the manager signals a focus on internal development rather than off-loading young assets. This has multiple implications: What this means for Mainoo and Zirkzee For Mainoo, the denial of an imminent exit is a vote of confidence, but one that comes with the expectation of progress. He must adapt to the manager’s system and show readiness when called upon.As for Zirkzee, his path might be slightly different — with younger players, especially forwards, the expectation is often rapid impact or readiness to step up. The club clearly intends to retain his services, but the window for proving his worth remains open. Final thought In summary: whilst speculation was rife that January might usher in changes for the young Manchester United duo, Rúben Amorim has stepped in to end that line of narrative. The message is loud and clear: both Mainoo and Zirkzee stay but the job of earning consistent involvement begins now.
Newcastle United icon Alan Shearer has shared his thoughts on Arsenal’s new forward, Viktor Gyokeres, predicting that the Swedish striker will soon regain his scoring touch for Mikel Arteta’s team. In his recent football analysis, Shearer acknowledged that Gyokeres is not yet at the level of Manchester City’s star striker, Erling Haaland, but emphasized that the Arsenal frontman has brought significant improvement to the team’s attacking depth. According to Shearer, Gyokeres has shown promising signs since joining Arsenal from Sporting CP during the summer transfer window, even though he has only managed to score three goals so far in the English Premier League this season. The football pundit explained that the Swedish international has already adapted to the tactical system at the Emirates Stadium, and that his performances are laying the foundation for a better goal-scoring run as the season progresses. Shearer highlighted that while Haaland’s goal-scoring rate continues to set the benchmark in English football, Gyokeres possesses a unique physical and technical quality that could make him one of the Premier League’s most consistent forwards if he maintains focus and confidence. Football analysts also believe that Gyokeres’ ability to create space, press high, and link play with teammates like Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard could soon translate into more goals for the North London side. As Arsenal continue to challenge for the top spot in the 2025 Premier League title race, Arteta’s trust in Gyokeres appears to be unwavering. Fans are hopeful that his breakthrough moment is imminent — one that could redefine Arsenal’s attacking momentum in upcoming fixtures.
