Popular Nigerian artist Habeeb Olalomi Okikiola, widely recognized by his stage name Portable, has been handed a three-month jail sentence by the Magistrates’ Court in Ifo, Ogun State, presided over by Chief Magistrate Babajide Ilo. Citing Sections 135, 297, and 299 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, Justice Adesanya noted that the prosecution successfully proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. “The guilt of an accused may be established through witness testimony, circumstantial evidence, and voluntary confessional statements,” she remarked. A police officer from the Festac Division, serving as a lead witness, confirmed that the accused were members of a notorious robbery gang that had been terrorizing commuters in the Maza Maza axis. Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has announced that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will officially commence the construction of the world’s largest cotton and polyester processing facility at the Special Agro Processing Zone near Gateway International Airport, located in the Iperu/Ilisan axis of Ogun State. It is expected to generate employment for about 250,000 individuals on a daily basis. “In the next 30 to 45 days, we will be breaking ground for the Renewed Hope Cotton Resurgent Initiative, with Mr. President personally overseeing the event. In a public notice released on Wednesday, the EFCC identified 41-year-old Bitar as the primary suspect in a digital asset fraud allegedly committed through CBEX. The scheme reportedly resulted in massive financial losses for numerous investors across Nigeria. According to the commission’s bulletin: “The public is hereby notified that ELIE BITAR, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for fraud allegedly perpetrated on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).” Bitar’s last known residential address was listed as Eng. George Enemoh Crescent, Lekki Phase 1, Lekki, Lagos State. The EFCC is calling on members of the public who may have any relevant information about Bitar’s current location to reach out to any of its zonal offices. These offices are located in cities including Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Kano, Benin, Gombe, Sokoto, Ilorin, Makurdi, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Maiduguri, and Kaduna.
