The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reiterated that its organization had no connection to the tragic death of Ahmed Gulak, a former political aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan. In a recent public statement, IPOB’s media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, emphasized that the group’s sit-at-home directive occurred on Monday, May 31, 2021—a full day after Gulak’s assassination. This clarification directly counters claims linking the separatist group to the incident. Powerful dismissed the alleged connection between Gulak’s death and the court proceedings of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, asserting that the prosecution’s strategy lacks credible evidence. According to him, Gulak was killed on Sunday, May 30, which chronologically refutes any association with the IPOB’s sit-at-home observance. He added that the death certificate presented by the prosecution holds no valid legal merit in the ongoing case, stating: “Let it be known that the so-called death certificate of Ahmed Gulak, former aide to ex-President Jonathan, has no evidentiary value whatsoever in the context of the ongoing trial.” Emma Powerful also criticized prosecuting counsel Awomolo SAN for attempting to reintroduce evidence after concluding the examination-in-chief, calling it a dishonest and unethical legal move. He explained: “The Federal Government’s prosecuting counsel, Awomolo SAN, acting with shocking dishonesty, attempted to reintroduce evidence after closing his examination-in-chief—an unethical and unacceptable legal maneuver designed only to mask the shame of a failed prosecution.” Clarifying the date of the sit-at-home, Powerful stressed that: “The sit-at-home observance declared by IPOB for the annual 30th May Remembrance Day in 2021 was held on Monday, 31st May 2021, not Sunday the 30th. Gulak was murdered on Sunday, a full day before the observance.” He further accused the Federal Government of trying to manipulate historical narratives for political gain and ethnic scapegoating. He likened the situation to the 1966 military coup, which was wrongly branded as an “Igbo coup,” thus leading to civil unrest and ethnic violence. “We remind the world that this is not the first time the Nigerian State has weaponized misinformation and historical revisionism to justify ethnic persecution. Just as the 1966 coup was falsely labelled an ‘Igbo coup’ to ignite the genocidal war against our people, they now seek to frame IPOB for every act of state-engineered violence in the South East.” Related News: BUY ANYTHING ON KONG BUY NOW Follow the LMSINT MEDIA channel on WhatsApp: Join Our WhatsApp Group Hear: Chat on WhatsApp
The Amirul Hajj of Ogun State, Alhaji Samsudeen Apelogun, has successfully arrived in Saudi Arabia with 247 additional intending pilgrims, marking the final phase of the state’s 2025 Hajj delegation. This final batch from Ogun State touched down at Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport at approximately 2:10 a.m. on Thursday. Their flight departed from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, completing the airlift of all intending pilgrims from the state. Alhaji Apelogun, who leads the contingent, delivered a message of caution and encouragement to the pilgrims. He advised them to exhibit exemplary conduct and moral behavior while in the Holy Land, emphasizing that their actions should reflect the values of both Ogun State and Nigeria. It is important to note that the initial batch of 428 pilgrims departed the previous Sunday, bringing the total number of 2025 Hajj participants from Ogun State to 675. The Amirul Hajj, who also holds the title of Asiwaju Adeen of Ogun State Muslim Community, reminded the pilgrims of their responsibility as representatives of Nigeria. He urged them to stay clear of actions that could tarnish the reputation of their home state and the nation as a whole. “I advise you to avoid prohibited items, steer clear of unauthorized movements, and comply strictly with the guidelines issued by both the State Muslim Welfare Board and Saudi authorities,” Apelogun stated. He reassured the pilgrims of their safety and welfare, noting that Governor Dapo Abiodun had made significant provisions for their comfort. According to Apelogun, the state government’s support includes generous welfare packages and spiritual support to ensure a fulfilling and secure pilgrimage. In closing, he appealed to the pilgrims to offer prayers not only for their personal spiritual goals but also for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abiodun, Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Ogun State, and their loved ones. Prof. Joy Ezeilo (SAN), a former United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Trafficking and ex-Dean of Law at the University of Nigeria, Enugu, has applauded the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for acknowledging its role in the poor performance of candidates in the recently concluded 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). She expressed strong reservations about the narrative that more than 60% of students failed due to a lack of intellectual capability or an alleged disinterest in academics among Nigeria’s younger generation. Prof. Ezeilo’s response followed the disclosure by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who conceded that administrative and technological lapses contributed to the subpar results in the 2025 UTME. According to reports, out of approximately 1.9 million UTME candidates, over 1.5 million scored below 200 out of the total 400 marks — a development that has sparked nationwide debate among educators and stakeholders in the education sector. In an exclusive interview with LMSINT MEDIA on Wednesday, Prof. Ezeilo emphasized that while technological innovation in exam administration is necessary, its implementation must be strategic and inclusive. “The decision by JAMB to accept responsibility is worthy of commendation. The technological transition clearly affected the outcomes, especially for students unfamiliar with the new system,” she remarked. She stressed that Nigeria’s deeply rooted socio-economic disparities — including those based on wealth, geography (urban vs rural), and gender — must be carefully considered before enforcing major digital reforms in education. “In rural communities and among female students, access to digital tools and exposure to modern technology is still limited. This digital divide significantly impairs both the comprehension and application of tech-based exam formats,” she explained. From her perspective as an academic, Prof. Ezeilo said it’s unthinkable to attribute such a high failure rate to the intellectual limitations of students or to claim that Nigerian youths are losing interest in education. She advocated for a gradual transition to digital exams, suggesting a flexible hybrid model that allows students to choose between manual and digital formats. According to her, a complete shift should take at least five to ten years, allowing the system to adjust without marginalizing any group. “Gradual integration of technology will facilitate a smoother shift and ensure fairness across the board,” she concluded. There’s encouraging news from Nottingham Forest as Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi has regained consciousness after being placed in a medically induced coma, according to a report by Mail Sport. The 27-year-old Super Eagles forward is now in the process of recovery after undergoing a critical abdominal surgery. The operation, described as both urgent and complicated, was performed to address a potentially life-threatening injury. On Wednesday night, Awoniyi was still in intensive care following the surgical procedure. The seriousness of the condition had sparked concern among football supporters and analysts, many of whom took to social media to express their prayers and support for his recovery. Medical professionals have now successfully completed the surgical intervention, and Awoniyi is being closely monitored in a hospital setting. Encouragingly, he has regained consciousness post-surgery and is currently surrounded by family members, offering him emotional support. The incident that led to the injury occurred during Nottingham Forest’s dramatic 2-2 draw against Leicester City over the weekend. Awoniyi had collided with the goalpost during the match. Despite receiving immediate medical attention on the pitch, he chose to keep playing for a while, showcasing immense bravery. Unfortunately, he was not immediately substituted due to the team having exhausted their substitution slots — with the final change made by coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who brought on Jota Silva in place of Elliot Anderson. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD _I and my Father are one (John 10:30). In John 10:32-38 we read about the Lord Jesus and the scepticism of the Jewish leaders as they accused Him of blasphemy, seeking an opportunity to arrest Him. Verse 39 says, “Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand” (John 10:39). Now, notice the latter portion that says “he escaped out of their hand.” Some have said He escaped out of fear; that’s not true, because He didn’t have it in Him to fear. Remember, He faced death and refused to avoid it even when He had the chance. He escaped on this occasion because it wasn’t the appointed time for His sacrifice. If He had allowed them to harm Him, the Father would have intervened, and they would have been destroyed. Jesus knew this. He said in Matthew 26:53, “Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?” This was the Son of God, fully aware of His authority and the power of angels at His command. Consider Elisha and his servant when they were surrounded by an army. The servant was afraid, but Elisha told him, “…Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha” (2 Kings 6:16-17). If that happened with Elisha, then think about the Lord Jesus. He knew He had myriads of angels with Him. His actions were purposeful, demonstrating that He was always in control. Even under pressure, He maintained His focus on fulfilling the will of the Father, showing us the perfect example of courage and confidence in God’s plan. This same Jesus lives in us today by His Spirit, and His boldness is ours. Like Him, you must trust the Father completely, walking in the assurance of His love, power, and perfect purpose for your life. Psalm 118:6 says, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” Furthermore, the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 1:7 reinforces this truth: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Hallelujah! So be bold in affirming who you are in Christ and your oneness with Him. That was what got the Jews mad; their religious minds couldn’t accept or relate with the audacity and conviction with which Jesus spoke of His oneness with the Father. And we’re just like Him. CONFESSIONI walk in the boldness and courage of Christ; fear has no place in me. I’m bold, courageous, daring and audacious in affirming my oneness with the Lord. I live boldly in Him, full of faith and confidence in His divine protection, guidance and plan for my life. And I thank the Lord for the victory I have in Christ Jesus. Amen. FURTHER STUDYJohn 10:32-39Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? 33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. 34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? 35 If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; 36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? 37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. 38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father [is] in me, and I in him. 39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand, 1 John 4:4Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:17Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. The Federal High Court in Kano has deferred the sentencing of well-known TikTok influencer Murja Ibrahimi Kunya to May 20, due to a sudden decision by the prosecution to modify the charge against her. Murja faces a single-count charge brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing her of misconduct involving the Nigerian currency. This allegation emerged after a widely circulated video captured her spraying and dancing on ₦400,000 during a celebration at Tahir Guest Palace Hotel in Kano in December 2024. Murja had earlier admitted guilt to the accusation. During the Tuesday session, originally set for verdict and sentencing, EFCC prosecutor Musa Isa made an unexpected plea to revise the current charge. Murja’s legal representative, Abubakar Saka, firmly objected to the change, stating that making alterations at such a late stage could delay the case and compromise the defendant’s right to a fair trial. He emphasized the need for sufficient time to assess the proposed changes thoroughly. Despite the objection, Justice Simon Amobeda approved the prosecution’s application, asserting that the amendment was necessary to uphold justice. The case was subsequently rescheduled to May 20 for further proceedings. Until the new date, the court ruled that Murja would remain under the supervision of her legal counsel. The existing bail terms remain active, including the condition that she must appear in court on the scheduled date. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD …but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God (Romans 6:13). Romans 6:10-11 is the reality of your life in Christ. You’re dead to sin and alive unto God. You’re not under the dominion of sin or death. The old nature that was a slave to sin is dead—crucified with Christ—and now you live in the newness of life. You’re alive to righteousness, glory, and the Lordship of Jesus. It helps us understand what the Bible says in Romans 6:12, “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” This means you have authority over your body, over your thoughts, over everything that pertains to you. You’re no longer subject to failure, decay, or destruction. You’ve come out of spiritual death into the realm of life—God’s life. When you touch things, they don’t deteriorate; they improve. Why? Because the righteousness of God fixes things; it carries life, success and glory; and you’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Think about it: the whole creation is in bondage because of corruption. Everything in the world has been subjected to decay and destruction: “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” (Romans 8:22). But what is the creation waiting for? The preceding verse 19 tells us; it says, “For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” You’re the one to set creation free from the bondage of corruption. Everything connected to you—Your clothes, your cars, your home—is meant to reflect and be impacted by the life of God, because as read in our theme scripture, you’re an instrument of righteousness. This means wherever you go, things get better. Whoever encounters you is improved, because the righteousness of God functions through you. You’re a carrier of life, restoration, and glory. You don’t just exist; you reign, you fix and renew things. Let this be your consciousness: you’re the manifestation of Christ’s righteousness. You function in His divine order and His divine power, bringing His glory everywhere. CONFESSIONI’m an instrument of righteousness; I carry the life of God. His glory and wisdom are expressed in and through me. Everything associated with me reflects the righteousness of God. I bring deliverance, restoration, and life to creation. I reign in life as a mature son of God, manifesting His glory always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. FURTHER STUDYRomans 8:19-21For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected [the same] in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Colossians 3:9-10Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new [man], which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: DAILY SCRIPTURE READING1-Year Bible Reading PlanJohn 6:60-71 & 1 Kings 12-14 2-Year Bible Reading PlanMark 10:13-22 & Numbers 17 Extract From Rhapsody of Realities Daily Devotional DAILY AFFIRMATIONS: I am plugged into an unending supply. I’m surrounded with God’s favour as a shield, and positioned by His grace for a life of peace and total prosperity! I win every day because I live by the faith of Jesus Christ. His divine power has given me everything I require for life and godliness, and I know it. According to Ancelotti, the Brazilian forward is experiencing discomfort in his leg, which has noticeably affected his mood. German Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund has expressed interest in acquiring KRC Genk’s prolific forward, Tolu Arokodare, ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 campaign. Arokodare is currently leading the scoring charts in the Belgian Pro League, having netted an impressive 22 goals and provided seven assists so far this season. The Nigerian striker’s performance has not gone unnoticed, as he has attracted attention from clubs in England and Turkey. Last summer, Arokodare was on the verge of joining Trabzonspor, one of Turkey’s top-flight teams. However, his move was halted following discussions with Genk’s head coach, Thorsten Fink, who convinced him to remain at the Cegeka Arena for another season. According to Transfermarkt, Borussia Dortmund has now listed Arokodare among their key targets for next season’s squad development. With his consistent form and goal-scoring prowess, the 24-year-old has emerged as a strong candidate to bolster Dortmund’s attacking options. Genk, meanwhile, is reportedly open to negotiating Arokodare’s departure, provided a suitable offer is submitted. Despite his current contract running until 2027, the club may consider a transfer if the terms are favorable. Nigerian writer and public speaker Solomon Buchi has publicly disagreed with popular singer Falz following a controversial statement made on social media regarding the concept of fornication. According to LMSINT MEDIA, the issue began when Falz posted on X (formerly Twitter) asserting that “fornication is not a sin.” The statement triggered significant backlash, particularly among users who hold strong religious convictions. A wave of sorrow swept through Ogun State Television (OGTV) on Monday following the unexpected death of Mrs. Bukola Agbakaizu, a seasoned female journalist who tragically collapsed while preparing for her afternoon shift. The unfortunate incident was officially confirmed on Tuesday evening by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council. As reported by the NUJ, Mrs. Agbakaizu slumped within the OGTV premises and was immediately transported to the Federal Medical Centre in Abeokuta, where doctors declared her dead upon arrival. She once held the position of Vice Chairman of the OGTV Chapel and served as an ex-officio member under the current leadership of Mr. Wale Olanrewaju. “Her dynamic character and relentless passion for the journalism profession have left an unforgettable impact.
