Solomon Dalung, who previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports Development, has refuted claims made by Dumebi Kachikwu, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate during the 2023 general elections, regarding an alleged hijacking of the party by the David Mark-led coalition. Speaking on Lunchtime Politics, a Channels Television political affairs programme, Dalung emphasized on Thursday that the coalition’s adoption of the ADC had strictly adhered to the proper procedures. He clarified that no hijacking took place, countering Kachikwu’s earlier accusations that the coalition took over the party without consulting important stakeholders. It is worth noting, as reported by LMSINT MEDIA, that Dumebi Kachikwu had previously claimed the coalition usurped control of the party, failing to involve key figures within the party in the process. Dalung explained that discussions surrounding the coalition had been ongoing for approximately 18 months, with active participation from crucial stakeholders of the ADC. He further mentioned that these stakeholders were present and took part in the unveiling of the coalition. He elaborated by stating, “The chairman of the board of trustees of the party was in attendance. So, it wasn’t a hijack because the members of the party were there, and the coalition elements were there to witness the transition of leadership.” According to Dalung, Kachikwu might have been unaware of these developments due to being out of touch with recent activities within the party, which could have contributed to his misunderstanding of the situation. Dalung added that although Kachikwu had the right to express his concerns, the ADC under its new leadership would handle the issues appropriately. The former sports minister reminded the public that the coalition was formally inaugurated on a Wednesday, with David Mark, a former President of the Nigerian Senate, being named interim chairman of the party. Additionally, Rauf Aregbesola, who previously held the office of Minister of Interior and served as Osun State governor, was appointed as the secretary. This change in leadership came after Ralph Nwosu, the previous chairman of the ADC, handed over the party’s reins at a significant event held in Abuja. Dalung’s clarification intends to settle speculations that the coalition had sidelined existing party leaders. He underlined that everyone was adequately involved, and the transition was transparent and legitimate, thereby invalidating any claims of a forceful takeover.
The Association of Education Officers in the Delta State Civil Service (AEODS) has made a clarion call to the Delta State Government, urging it to fully execute the duty tour allowances which have already been approved for officers who embark on official assignments. This appeal was contained in a communiqué released after the conclusion of the association’s fourth congress, which took place in Asaba, the Delta State capital. The congress was organized to thoroughly deliberate on critical matters impacting members of the association, as well as the overall conditions of service that affect education officers in the state. During these deliberations, the members of the congress gave their unflinching support to the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. They praised his administration’s educational policies and pledged to continue collaborating with the government to further strengthen the education sector across Delta State. The communiqué, which encapsulated these resolutions, was jointly endorsed by Jemijere Unuigbe, who serves as the chairman of AEODS, and Usiakpor Lucky, who occupies the position of secretary of the association. In addition, the AEODS resolved to maintain a harmonious working relationship with relevant institutions and agencies in order to create a more conducive environment for education officers to deliver on their mandates effectively. As part of its efforts to recognize the invaluable contributions of its retired members, the congress directed the council to organize a send-forth ceremony. This event will serve as a mark of gratitude and appreciation for the decades of service that these retirees have rendered in support of the state’s workforce and educational development. In line with its ongoing welfare improvement agenda, the AEODS also appealed to the executive council to liaise with the leadership of the relevant ministries. The goal of this engagement would be to establish a standardized and sustainable welfare scheme that will cater to the needs of association members. To further boost the association’s financial standing and ensure that it can continue to meet its growing welfare commitments, the AEODS congress gave its approval for an increment in the monthly dues payable by members. The new monthly contribution has been fixed at N1,000, reflecting the stipulations within the association’s constitution. Through these resolutions, AEODS reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the welfare of education officers while advancing collaboration with the Delta State Government to ensure continued growth and progress in the education sector.
Former Nigerian dancehall sensation Cynthia Morgan has ignited an online storm after openly criticizing Natasha Osawaru, who is the wife of renowned music icon 2Baba, previously known as 2Face Idibia. Morgan accused Natasha of allegedly compelling her husband to deliver a public apology, stirring widespread discussion across social media platforms. Through a recent post on her Instagram stories, Cynthia Morgan expressed deep concern about the legendary singer’s wellbeing, calling on Nigerians to remember him in their prayers. She questioned the circumstances that led to his abrupt and widely publicized apology. The apology, according to many observers, emerged after a recent interview involving 2Baba went viral, attracting intense public reactions and scrutiny from fans and industry watchers alike. In her strongly worded statement aimed at Natasha, Morgan wrote: “You can’t purge a man like Tuface into monogamy overnight.” Additionally, she challenged the religious convictions of the veteran musician, raising questions about whether 2Baba is genuinely Christian or plays the role of a church leader. Cynthia Morgan also referenced his personal life and age, stating: “At 49, with 7 kids from 3 women, are we surprised he thinks he’s polygamous in nature? I’m not.” She closed her statement with a plea for prayers on behalf of the Afrobeats star, referencing a Bible passage to underline her point: “Pray for Tuface. Someone says he deserves it. Indiscipline truly brings shame. Proverbs 29 vs 15. Free Tubaba.”
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10). Romans 8:29 says, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate….” Predestination is at work in you. God has a divine plan for your life, and He has set events and their sequence in motion in line with His divine plan. Consider John the Baptist, for example, whose entire ministry was for the sole purpose of making the Messiah known to Israel. God could have simply told John where to find Jesus, but John had to follow God’s instructions and wait for the sign he was given: “…Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit” (John 1:33 NKJV). Finally, Jesus stood before him, and John recognized Him (John 1:29-34). It unfolded precisely according to God’s divine plan. Consider, too, Samuel’s intriguing visit to anoint one of Jesse’s sons as king (1 Samuel 16:1-13). Samuel thought he had found the Lord’s anointed when he saw Eliab, with his impressive stature. But God said, “Not him, for I have rejected him” (1 Samuel 16:7). One by one, Jesse brought seven of his sons before Samuel, and each time God said, “Not this one.” God could have simply told Samuel who to anoint, but He allowed the process to unfold step by step. Finally, Samuel asked Jesse, “Are here all thy children?” Jesse admitted that there was still one more son, David, who was tending the sheep. When David was brought before Samuel, the Lord said, “…Arise, anoint him: for this is he” (1 Samuel 16:12). God’s divine plan for David came to pass according to His preordained design. God has a plan for your life and it’s a good one. He has predestined your life for His glory, and He knows exactly where you are in His divine plan. You don’t need to be in a hurry or get in a frenzy trying to fulfil His destiny for your life. He has all the events and their sequence planned out in line with His divine purpose. Yours is to follow the path which He’s prearranged ahead of time. Ephesians 2:10 AMPC says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” PRAYERDear Father, I trust you wholeheartedly, knowing that you have predestined my life for your glory. My life is a testimony of your faithfulness, and I yield myself to your perfect will, ever advancing and fulfilling all you have called me to do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Festus Keyamo, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has become significantly stronger due to the recent coalition movement into the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Keyamo described this development as a major turning point that has fortified the APC as the nation prepares for the 2027 general elections. Keyamo made this assertion via his verified X platform (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday. He highlighted that under Nigerian law, it is prohibited for individuals to simultaneously associate with more than one political party. According to him, the public declaration of allegiance to the ADC amounts to an obvious abandonment of their former political affiliations. “The law clearly states that membership of two political parties is grounds for disqualification from contesting in an election,” Keyamo emphasized. The minister further explained that the ADC’s present configuration represents what he termed the “formal disintegration” of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), once regarded as Nigeria’s strongest opposition party. In his view, the PDP has been weakened as older party leaders have been displaced by younger figures who have seized control within the party. Keyamo remarked that the recent gathering of political figures consisted predominantly of individuals with former ties to the PDP, characterizing it as a faction led by Atiku Abubakar in pursuit of the 2027 presidential ticket. “Today’s assembly was simply a coalition of former PDP stalwarts searching for relevance. At the core, it is Atiku’s wing of the PDP striving for the 2027 presidential candidacy — nothing more, nothing less,” he posted. Moreover, Keyamo observed that some members of the new coalition include ex-APC members who had either opposed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last election or failed to secure victories in their constituencies during the 2023 polls. He stressed that their defection would not weaken the APC in any way. “On the contrary, this is advantageous for the APC because it is akin to removing the parasite that was causing internal harm,” Keyamo stated. He also alleged that the so-called old political strategists within the PDP intend to leverage Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, to garner votes without offering him the presidential ticket. He referred to the coalition as merely an “Atiku-driven agenda.” “If Peter Obi isn’t given the presidential ticket, his supporters will be alienated — it’s as simple as that. How can you justify making someone who won two regions — the South-East and South-South — play second fiddle as a running mate to a candidate who secured only the North-East?” Keyamo queried. In his conclusion, Keyamo predicted that by the time the situation unfolds fully, the PDP and Labour Party would have suffered losses, the ADC would gain little of substance, and the APC would remain unaffected. “Since the 2023 polls, APC has continued to grow stronger, while the opposition camps have become divided and increasingly fragile,” Keyamo maintained. “When you compare those who have joined the APC — governors, senators, and House of Representatives members — with the few who have exited, the APC undoubtedly stands stronger. That is the key point in all of this analysis,” he explained. Finally, Keyamo called on Nigerians to respect the constitutional rights of opposition members to associate freely, while the APC-led government remains focused on delivering good governance.
Letep Dabang, who previously served as the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial campaign during the 2023 governorship election in Plateau State, has officially resigned from his role as Political Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang. The political heavyweight has now returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC), rekindling ties with his former party. Dabang, well known for his earlier tenure as Plateau State APC Chairman under former Governor Simon Lalong, initially defected to the PDP where he played a key role as the DG of the party’s 2023 campaign. His efforts contributed to the electoral victory of Governor Caleb Mutfwang. In appreciation of his service, he was appointed as the Political Adviser to the governor. However, in a formal resignation letter dated June 30, 2025, and addressed to the Chief of Staff of the Plateau State Government House, Dabang communicated his decision to step down, citing personal reasons for his exit. The letter, written by Dabang, stated: “Please accept this letter as a formal notice of my resignation from my position as Political Adviser.I appreciate the opportunities I have had to serve and contribute to the government of the day, both as Political Adviser and as former Director General of the Plateau State PDP presidential/governorship campaign council.Thank you for the opportunity given, and I wish the government continued success.” The APC State Chairman, Rufus Bature, confirmed Dabang’s defection back to the APC. Speaking on the development, Bature remarked: “Yes, he is with us. He has joined us fully. In politics, there is no permanent enemy, but permanent interest.” Dabang’s return to the APC is expected to reshape political alignments in Plateau State ahead of future elections, highlighting the fluid nature of Nigerian party politics.
Renowned American hip-hop entrepreneur and influential figure in the global music industry, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, expressed visible relief after a jury delivered its verdict in his high-profile legal case involving allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering. The jury found Combs guilty on two out of five counts brought against him. Combs, also widely known as P. Diddy, celebrated the partial victory in court by raising his fist triumphantly and silently mouthing the words “thank you” in the direction of the jury members following their decision. Breakdown of the Jury’s Decision The verdict marked the end of a lengthy and intensely followed trial that saw several witnesses, including notable individuals connected to Combs. The jury concluded that: Details of the Conviction Combs’ conviction centered specifically on transportation for the purpose of prostitution, with the two charges linked to both his former partner, Cassie Ventura, and a woman using the pseudonym Jane, who had been in a relationship with the music mogul between 2021 and his 2024 arrest. The acquittal on the more serious counts of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking was a notable element of the verdict, as these charges carried the potential for significantly harsher penalties. Throughout the proceedings, Combs maintained his innocence regarding the most severe allegations, and his defense team focused on contesting the racketeering and sex trafficking accusations that had dominated media headlines. The split verdict reflects the complexities that jurors faced while examining the evidence. Public and Legal Reactions This case has drawn widespread attention across both entertainment and legal circles, with ongoing discussions about its broader implications for celebrity accountability. Many legal experts are analyzing the impact of the verdict on future cases involving high-profile defendants. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak (John 12:49). The Lord Jesus was focused on His divine mission. He knew exactly what He came to do and was undistracted. He declared His purpose and remained committed to it: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10 NKJV). Then in John 4:34 NKJV, He said,“…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work,” showing His deep commitment to completing the mission given to Him by the Father. But then in John 20:21, He said something remarkable, “…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.” Therefore, like Him, we must stay focused on the divine mission. He said in Mark 16:15, “…Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” This is the divine mission. Matthew 24:14 says “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Our mandate is to complete the full preaching of the Gospel in all nations this year; how focused are you on this? Your accountability to the Lord would be on the basis of your participation in the Gospel. Anyone can say to you today, “You’re doing a great job,” but what truly matters is if you’re doing what the Lord said to do. Even in speech, the Lord Jesus set an example as seen in our theme verse. Every word He spoke was in alignment with the divine mission. He said in John 8:29, “I always do those things that please the Father.” We’re called to emulate Him in all things. Therefore, let your life mirror the Master in speech, action and commitment to the divine mission. Stay focused on fulfilling the mandate of the Gospel. Personalize the mandate and live every day with the consciousness that necessity is laid on you to preach the Gospel. Nothing in this world is more important than that. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for setting me on a path of divine purpose. I walk in alignment with your will and in the consciousness that necessity is laid on me to preach the Gospel. My life is a reflection of true and unwavering commitment to the cause of the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. The much-anticipated opportunity for football fans to witness a Bellingham brothers face-off at the 2025 Club World Cup quarter-final will not materialize. Jude Bellingham and Jobe Bellingham will not compete against each other in this stage of the prestigious tournament due to unforeseen circumstances. Jobe Bellingham, who recently secured a move to Borussia Dortmund, has been ruled out of the upcoming match against Real Madrid. The 19-year-old midfielder received a yellow card during Dortmund’s intense 2-1 victory over Monterrey on Wednesday morning. This booking has led to his suspension for the crucial quarter-final clash, preventing what would have been the first competitive encounter between the siblings. Had Jobe managed to avoid being cautioned during the match, football enthusiasts could have witnessed a historic moment: Jude Bellingham and Jobe Bellingham playing against each other on a major international stage for the very first time in their respective careers. In that match, Serhou Guirassy delivered a standout performance for Borussia Dortmund. The striker netted two decisive goals within the span of 10 minutes, ensuring his team’s progression at the expense of the Mexican side, Monterrey. Monterrey’s German Berterame did manage to reduce the deficit just three minutes into the second half, but his effort proved to be no more than a consolation as Dortmund held on for the win. Earlier on the same day, Jude Bellingham played a vital role in Real Madrid’s narrow 1-0 victory over Juventus, a result that secured Madrid’s place in the last eight. With both teams advancing, the stage was set for what could have been a memorable sibling showdown, but Jobe’s suspension has now dashed those hopes. The football world will have to wait for another occasion to see these talented brothers compete directly against each other in a competitive fixture.
Real Madrid head coach, Xabi Alonso, has commended five of his standout players following their narrow victory against Juventus in the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 on Tuesday night. Alonso observed as Real Madrid secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Juventus, booking their place in the quarter-final stage of the tournament. The decisive moment of the match came in the second half when Gonzalo Garcia found the back of the net, delivering the goal that ultimately sealed the triumph for Los Blancos. The Spanish giants are now set to clash with Borussia Dortmund in what promises to be an intense last-eight showdown in the coming days. Alonso Praises Five Key Real Madrid Stars In his post-match remarks, Alonso did not focus solely on the goal-scorer. Instead, he emphasized the collective importance of the team. The Real Madrid manager pointed out that players like Arda Güler, Jude Bellingham, Fede Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Dani Ceballos are vital to the team’s success. According to Alonso, relying on a single individual is insufficient for organizing a top-level football team. “I am pleased with Arda Güler; he is performing admirably,” Alonso shared during his post-game press briefing.“However, it goes beyond just him. No single player can shape a team. We require everyone—Fede, Jude, Tchouaméni, Ceballos—each contributes to the collective effort.” With eyes now fixed on their next fixture against Borussia Dortmund, Alonso and his squad will aim to build on this momentum as they continue their Club World Cup campaign.
Renowned Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, who is better known to the public as 2Face, has expressed that he does not feel obligated to provide any explanation to the general public regarding the issues surrounding his separation from his spouse, popular actress Annie Macaulay. Despite the ongoing discussions and speculations, the legendary singer insists that his duty of explanation lies solely with his children. It is worth noting that LMSINT MEDIA previously reported that 2Face made his separation from Annie public through an Instagram post on Sunday, January 26, 2025. This announcement triggered widespread reactions and significant media attention, fueling various speculations and discussions across social media platforms. The situation intensified even further when 2Face began openly displaying his new relationship with Natasha Osawuru, who is a distinguished member of the Edo State House of Assembly. His public affection for Natasha added more fuel to the ongoing controversy, as fans and critics voiced their opinions across numerous platforms. In a candid discussion during an interview session on the 234 Mzansi Podcast, the respected artist took the opportunity to address these issues. He clarified that the only individuals entitled to hear his side of the story are his children. In his words, “My kids are the only people I owe an explanation.” 2Face went on to explain that his marriage to Annie had unfortunately reached a point where it could no longer be sustained. According to him, both parties gave their best effort to salvage the union, but their attempts ultimately fell short. He described Annie as “an amazing person” and emphasized that they had shared beautiful moments together during their time as a couple. Despite their efforts and the many years they spent trying to make things work, the decision to part ways became inevitable because, in his view, the marriage simply “wasn’t working anymore.” 2Face and Annie Macaulay entered into matrimony in May 2012, a union that produced two lovely daughters — Isabella and Olivia. The singer reaffirmed that his primary focus remains on ensuring that his children understand the situation, as their emotional well-being is his utmost concern.
