It brings to mind the story of two sisters, Martha and Mary, who each responded differently to the Lord Jesus’ visit to their home (Read Luke 10:38-42). Martha was consumed with the numerous tasks required in hosting a guest, along with much anxiety and distraction. In contrast, Mary chose to sit at the Master’s feet to absorb His teachings and engage in fellowship with Him, and the Lord commended her choice. When Martha expressed her frustration, the Master gently replied: “…Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:41-42).
