Governor Sanwo-Olu Raises Alarm Over Rising Substance Abuse in Lagos and Nationwide

In a strong call to action, the Lagos State Government has expressed deep alarm over the worsening state of drug and substance abuse not only within the state but across Nigeria. This growing epidemic has prompted a renewed push for immediate and coordinated intervention. The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, made this urgent plea while addressing attendees at the Anti-Substance Abuse Programme (ASAP) Advocacy Stakeholders Conference. The high-profile event was organized by MTN Nigeria and held at the company’s headquarters located in Falomo, Lagos. During the event, the governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, described the crisis of drug abuse as a “malignant cancer” that is slowly eroding the very fabric of Nigerian society and jeopardizing the future of the nation. “It is deeply troubling to observe the increasing penetration of drug abuse among our youth, a menace now reaching even our most vulnerable—our children,” stated Salu-Hundeyin. She emphasized the gravity of the situation by stressing that young people are the foundation and energy of Nigeria’s future, questioning how any nation can advance when its next generation is battling the destructive grip of addiction. “Our youth are meant to be the pillars of a thriving nation. But how can any country prosper if the minds and ambitions of its young are being destroyed by the scourge of substance dependency?” she asked. Lagos Government’s Multi-Level Strategy Against Drug Abuse Barrister Salu-Hundeyin outlined that the Lagos State Government is not taking the threat lightly. A comprehensive strategy is being rolled out, featuring multiple pillars designed to combat the crisis from all angles. Some key initiatives include: She noted that prevention is the cornerstone of Lagos State’s response. “We are placing a strong emphasis on proactive and preventive strategies in our approach to combating drug abuse,” she said. Through the Lagos State Well-Being Programme, the government has introduced several proactive efforts, such as: These multi-dimensional steps, she affirmed, are all part of a broader commitment to safeguarding the state’s youth and future. Commendation for MTN Nigeria’s ASAP Initiative Salu-Hundeyin commended MTN Nigeria for stepping up to its corporate social responsibility through the launch and support of the ASAP initiative. She highlighted the programme’s focus on youth engagement, educator training, and consistent advocacy as a model for meaningful private sector involvement in social development. “MTN’s initiative demonstrates how a corporate entity can go beyond business goals to make a lasting impact on society,” she remarked. The Lagos State Government continues to encourage more private-public partnerships in the fight against drug abuse, especially in efforts targeting prevention, education, and rehabilitation.

Reno Omokri Accuses Nnamdi Kanu of Killing 50 Soldiers, 24 Policemen, and Ordering Lagos Arson

Prominent Nigerian political analyst and ex-presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has made serious allegations against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). According to Omokri, Kanu directly orchestrated a wave of brutal killings and arson in Nigeria’s Southeast and beyond. During a live appearance on Channels Television on Wednesday, Omokri responded to recent remarks by Peter Obi, former Anambra State governor and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate. Obi had previously questioned the logic behind the ongoing trial of Nnamdi Kanu, stating it “does not make sense.” However, Omokri countered that assertion with disturbing claims. He alleged that Kanu, in a now-archived video, issued direct orders to his supporters to commit acts of extreme violence. Omokri insisted that these orders included the killing of over 50 military personnel, 24 policemen, and numerous civilians. He also alleged that Kanu instructed his followers to burn down Lagos State. “Peter Obi said the trial of Nnamdi Kanu does not make sense,” Omokri stated emphatically. “But I have a video. We can’t play it because of BBC restrictions. In that video, you can hear Nnamdi Kanu clearly instructing his followers to murder soldiers and to set Lagos ablaze.” Omokri expressed deep concern over the aftermath of the video’s circulation. He said that, in the months that followed, Nigeria witnessed a spike in violent attacks particularly in the Southeastern region. According to him, the casualties were not limited to combatants. He described a harrowing account of an army couple who were ambushed, killed, and beheaded in Imo State, allegedly under the directives of IPOB militants and associated groups like the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and unknown gunmen. Furthermore, Omokri revealed that over 160 police stations were shut down across the Southeast as a direct result of attacks by IPOB operatives and affiliated armed groups. These attacks led to the death of 24 police officers, further deepening the region’s security crisis. “How can anyone in good conscience argue that the trial of someone responsible for such atrocities doesn’t make sense?” Omokri questioned, indirectly referencing Peter Obi’s earlier comments. The controversial allegations have sparked renewed debate on social media, with many Nigerians demanding that the evidence referenced by Omokri be made public. Meanwhile, legal experts and political analysts are weighing in on whether or not Obi’s comments were taken out of context or reflect a broader political sentiment toward reconciliation and dialogue. These allegations arrive amid growing scrutiny over the Federal Government’s handling of Kanu’s case, which has drawn both domestic and international attention, including from rights advocacy groups like Amnesty International. As tensions continue to rise, the political climate in Nigeria remains deeply polarized over the issues of Biafran separatism, state security, and ethnic justice. The future of Nnamdi Kanu’s trial—and its implications for regional peace—will likely remain a key talking point in Nigeria’s national discourse.

Rhapsody of Realities July 9th 2025, PRESENTING JESUS CHRIST ALIVE

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:8). When I began holding crusades many years ago, my focus was to present Jesus Christ alive to the people. Hence the posters or handbills would read, “Presenting Jesus Christ Alive” in so and so village, town, or city, naming wherever it was. I presented Him alive because, as far as I was concerned, Jesus Christ was the same as He was in Bible days, and alive. Even today, all over the world, in our books, our messages and teachings, the purpose is the same: to present Jesus Christ alive, proving His unchanging nature and power. In those early years, we held camp meetings annually. In one of those years, the theme of the camp meeting was “Beyond The Written Pages.” Yes, the Lord Jesus in His power, glory, dominion and grace lives beyond the written pages. He’s alive today, blessing and transforming lives as He did in Bible days. Christianity transcends mere words on paper. It’s about presenting Jesus Christ alive to the nations and peoples of the world, beyond history and prophecy. We must take this message beyond our immediate borders, to reach the farthest regions, to the ends of the earth. This has to be your mindset now more than ever. The real Church can’t be stagnant or static; the real Church must be dynamic. It must continually reach beyond borders, presenting Jesus Christ alive, relevant and as Lord in a postmodern world. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the consistency of your vision and the revelation of Jesus Christ alive today. I’m taking the message beyond borders, presenting the living Christ to my world and beyond. The Church is marching forward, expanding and spreading the message of your love, power and grace through the nooks and crannies of the earth, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Oluremi Tinubu Champions Bold, Innovative Solutions for Global Challenges at the Global First Ladies Forum

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has made a compelling call for the adoption of innovative and bold approaches to address the ever-evolving challenges impacting the most vulnerable populations globally. Her advocacy was made during her speech at the 3rd Annual Global First Ladies Alliance Academy, currently ongoing in New York, USA. Delivering her remarks at the esteemed international platform, Oluremi Tinubu highlighted how her Renewed Hope Initiative serves as a key tool in promoting the empowerment of women and youth in Nigeria. Through this initiative, she aims to create pathways to more sustainable livelihoods and improve the quality of life for Nigerian families. The First Lady explained the complexity of navigating public life as a First Lady, emphasizing the importance of complementing one’s spouse through impactful, rather than burdensome, actions. “It’s not easy to maintain balance in such a role. Whatever you do must either support your husband’s leadership or become a burden. So, it’s best to focus on doing the right things, no matter how small they seem,” Tinubu stated. She encouraged her fellow First Ladies and public servants not to shy away from offering what may seem like minor contributions. “Don’t be hesitant to offer your little. That little could be someone’s lifeline. Face challenges head-on. That’s exactly what we are doing, and we’re beginning to witness gradual, yet significant results,” she added. The session welcomed First Ladies from across the globe, including: Dr. Cora Neumann, a Montana state senator and the founder of the Global First Ladies Alliance, which hosts the forum, addressed the participants with a powerful message. She emphasized that the role of a First Lady extends far beyond the confines of official duties and tenure in office. “Your ideas, obstacles, and experiences have deeply influenced every part of this academy. We not only welcome your ongoing input but expect it. You are helping to redefine what it means to be an impactful First Partner on the world stage,” Neumann asserted. She went on to urge the First Ladies to lead with empathy and authenticity, describing leadership as a role of the heart. The executive leadership training, co-organized with Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health, aims to strengthen the participants’ capacity, deepen their social impact, and enhance the efficiency of their offices. It also serves to build a global network of leadership among First Ladies, empowering them to support one another and their nations through shared experiences and insights. Looking ahead, Oluremi Tinubu is expected to deliver a more detailed special keynote address during the forum. Her upcoming speech will focus on her transformative programs for women, children, and youth in Nigeria, underlining her dedication to nurturing inclusive growth, gender equity, and societal resilience.

ADC Vows Tinubu Will Be Defeated Through Democratic Votes, Not a Coup – Responds to Presidency’s ‘Overthrow’ Claim

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has firmly reiterated its commitment to democratic principles, stating categorically that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be voted out of power through legitimate electoral processes—not by violence, military intervention, or any unconstitutional means. The party made this declaration on Wednesday in response to recent claims from the Presidency alleging that a group of opposition parties is plotting to topple Tinubu’s administration. In a swift and strongly worded reaction, the ADC Interim National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, described the claim as both dangerous and unfounded, warning that it could serve as a pretext for a crackdown on dissent. The controversy was ignited by a tweet from Bayo Onanuga, one of President Tinubu’s media aides. Onanuga had alleged that an opposition coalition was conspiring to orchestrate a forceful removal of the current government—a claim that has since triggered widespread reactions across the political landscape. Responding directly to the tweet, Abdullahi condemned it in its entirety, branding it as a reckless attempt to criminalize political opposition in Nigeria. He asserted that such remarks from the Presidency not only lack credible evidence but also raise concerns about the administration’s growing intolerance toward opposing voices. According to Abdullahi, the real intention behind Onanuga’s statement could be to justify future clampdowns on opposition leaders, critics, and dissenters under the guise of national security. He warned that such authoritarian tactics would be met with resistance from all who cherish the democratic values enshrined in Nigeria’s constitution. “The African Democratic Congress completely rejects and condemns the insinuation that we or any other political group seeks to undermine democratic institutions or processes. We are not in the business of overthrowing governments—we are politicians, not insurgents,” Abdullahi emphasized. Continuing, he clarified that the ADC remains focused on its political agenda, which includes presenting a clear policy alternative and a visionary plan for Nigeria’s future. The party, he said, believes in using the ballot box as the instrument for change, not bullets or force. “We have no weapons—our only weapon is the ballot. We are resolute in our commitment to democracy, and we will contest and win through electoral means when the time comes,” he added. The ADC also reassured Nigerians that it would never support or promote the disruption of democratic governance, no matter the level of dissatisfaction with the current administration’s performance. Instead, the party sees the 2027 general election as the rightful platform to unseat President Tinubu through the will of the people. This response from the ADC highlights growing political tension and suspicion in Nigeria’s evolving democracy. It also signals that opposition parties are beginning to organize around electoral strategies, rather than revolutionary ones, in their bid to reclaim leadership from the All Progressives Congress (APC). As Nigeria moves closer to another election cycle, observers and civil society groups have emphasized the need for political tolerance, free speech, and open competition, rather than suppressive narratives or intimidation tactics.

Rhapsody of Realities July 8th 2025, THE CONSISTENCY OF JESUS CHRIST

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith, follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever (Hebrews 13:7-8). What we read in our opening scripture above is quite profound. There’s a connection between verses 7 and 8 that many Bible translators didn’t grasp. This is due primarily to the lack of punctuation in the original Greek text. The connection is straightforward when you study the passage in context. Both verses actually emphasize the consistency of the Lord Jesus Christ. The 8th verse, which says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever,” is not independent of the preceding verse 7. What the Spirit is emphasizing in those verses is that the leaders who brought us God’s Word had a way of life that demonstrated and bore testimony to the power and consistency of the Lord Jesus Christ; He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. In other words, their faith produced results that reflected the unchanging nature of the Lord Jesus—His faithfulness, trustworthiness and glory—proving Him to be consistent. What He did back then, He’s able to do, and still does today. Therefore, the instruction is clear: follow the faith of those who delivered God’s Word to you, considering the outcome of their lives, which is the revelation of Jesus Christ’s consistency and unchanging nature. No wonder James 1:17 describes Him as the Father of lights, with whom there’s no variableness, neither shadow of turning; no shadow of inconsistency with Him. He said through the prophet in Malachi 3:6, “For I am the LORD, I change not….” Today, it makes no difference where you are in your life or what you need; Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Trust Him with your life. Those who came ahead of us testified of His faithfulness and the infallibility and immutability of His Word. We have the same testimony; He never fails. Hallelujah! PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the consistency of your Word and the faithfulness of the Lord Jesus Christ who’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. My life is a revelation of the unchanging nature of Christ, His glory, power and love, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Transfer Update: Amorim Excludes Five Manchester United Stars From Preseason Training

Manchester United’s newly appointed manager, Rúben Amorim, has taken a bold step by excluding five first-team players from the club’s preseason training as preparations for the new campaign officially kick off at the Carrington training base. As per a credible report by The Telegraph UK, the players barred from joining the rest of the squad include: Amorim has issued a directive to all five individuals, advising them not to report for training with the core team. This decision, according to sources close to the club, is based on their expected departures from Old Trafford during the current summer transfer window. Reasons Behind Amorim’s Preseason Exclusion Decision Among the five players listed, the majority were loaned out during the 2023/2024 football season: While Alejandro Garnacho stayed at Manchester United for the entire campaign, reports suggest that he no longer fits into Rúben Amorim’s tactical blueprint or long-term vision for the team. This early and decisive move underscores the manager’s intent to carry out a comprehensive squad overhaul, starting with letting go of players who do not align with his philosophy or performance expectations. Amorim’s Transfer Moves: Fresh Faces and Future Targets Rúben Amorim has wasted no time in strengthening his squad, having already finalized the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Additionally, the Portuguese tactician is said to be keeping a close eye on Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who is being considered as a key attacking reinforcement. The exclusion of high-profile names like Sancho and Rashford may come as a surprise to fans, but sources indicate that Amorim is determined to reshape Manchester United into a competitive and cohesive unit that aligns with his vision — even if that means parting ways with some of the club’s most marketable assets. Tactical Insight: Amorim’s Restructure Signals Ruthless Efficiency This development marks a clear signal of the cultural and tactical shift happening under Rúben Amorim’s tenure. By removing players who either underperformed or are not part of his plans, the manager is making space for new talent, better squad harmony, and system-oriented selections over reputation. Fans of the club and football analysts alike will be watching closely to see how these moves impact the team’s performance and structure in the upcoming season.

“Singer Shenseea Declares: ‘I Don’t Believe in Divorce'”

Popular Jamaican dancehall sensation, Shenseea, has stirred online conversations with her bold opinion on marital issues, particularly divorce. The chart-topping artist, known for her single ‘Hit and Run’, has publicly declared her disapproval of divorce, emphasizing that partners should focus on reconciliation rather than separation when facing challenges in their relationship. Taking to her official X (formerly Twitter) account, the singer wrote: “I don’t believe in divorce. We gon’ have to learn to love each other again.” Her candid take quickly attracted both praise and criticism from social media users, sparking widespread debate across various platforms. While some fans applauded her view as a call to preserve the sanctity of marriage and foster forgiveness and understanding, others perceived her remarks differently. A number of critics labeled her comment as hypocritical, pointing out her personal status as a single mother. In more critical reactions, some individuals interpreted her post as promoting the endurance of toxic or abusive relationships, arguing that such advice could potentially endanger vulnerable individuals trapped in harmful domestic situations. Despite the backlash and the heated discourse surrounding her statement, Shenseea has not issued any official follow-up or clarification on the matter as of the time of this report.

“You Cannot Deceive God” – Cynthia Morgan Slams Jude Okoye Over Unsettled Past Dispute

Nigerian music artist Cynthia Morgan, now known as Madrina, has reignited a long-standing feud with her former music executive, Jude Okoye, over what she described as unresolved grievances and alleged dishonesty. In a candid and emotionally charged message shared on her official Instagram page, Madrina called out Jude Okoye, accusing him of backstabbing and spreading negative narratives about her behind closed doors, while intentionally avoiding any face-to-face conversation to resolve the lingering issues. The dancehall artist expressed frustration over Okoye’s alleged refusal to meet her despite her consistent attempts to initiate a personal discussion. According to her, every effort she has made to see him since their fallout has been met with silence or evasion. She revealed her deep disappointment in Okoye’s actions, stating that she believes he is deliberately evading her because of guilt or shame over how he handled their professional relationship and the controversies that followed their split in 2016. “Since 2016, all you’ve done is speak negatively about me behind closed doors,” Cynthia Morgan wrote. “Every effort I’ve made to speak with you in person has failed. It’s clear I’m disappointed in how things turned out between us, and deep down, you know you’re also disappointed in yourself. That’s likely why you’ve adopted a ‘no face’ approach.” She didn’t stop there. In her emotionally laden post, she added that both of them have consequences to face for their past choices—highlighting a spiritual angle to their fallout. She reflected on personal accountability but pointed out that Jude Okoye, too, would have to answer for his actions and the pain he caused through what she described as “dishonest dealings.” “But here’s what I’ve come to understand—I reaped the consequences of my actions because I sowed in the flesh,” she continued. “You, too, will face your own harvest, because you served as an instrument and withheld what rightfully belonged to others through dishonest means. As scripture says, God cannot be mocked.” This renewed outburst highlights the enduring tension between the singer and her former label boss, which previously drew public attention when Cynthia Morgan opened up about losing her stage name, VEVO account, and social media pages after her contract ended with Northside Entertainment, a label owned by Jude Okoye.

EeZee Conceptz in Dialogue with Mercy Chinwo to Resolve Music Royalty Conflict – Manager Coach Nancy Speaks Out

Peace Talks Underway Between Mercy Chinwo and EeZee Tee Amid Royalty Dispute The ongoing legal conflict between award-winning gospel artist Mercy Chinwo and her former record label, EeZee Conceptz, appears to be approaching a possible resolution. Nancy Nnadi, widely known as Coach Nancy and the current Managing Director of EeZee Conceptz Limited, has confirmed that reconciliation talks are in progress between the two parties. Coach Nancy made this revelation while officially withdrawing a previously issued defamatory statement she had made against Chinwo in the heat of the legal battle. As previously reported by LMSINT MEDIA, Mercy Chinwo had filed a lawsuit against her former music executive, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, commonly referred to as EeZee Tee, in January 2025. The lawsuit alleged that EeZee Tee diverted over $345,000 in music royalties, an accusation that stirred significant reactions across Nigeria’s gospel music industry and among fans globally. This legal issue came approximately two years after Chinwo severed ties with EeZee Conceptz over unresolved financial disagreements, prompting the singer to pursue legal redress. In the midst of the dispute, Nancy Nnadi, representing the interests of the record label, accused Mercy Chinwo of financial impropriety—an allegation that led the gospel singer to respond by filing a defamation suit. Chinwo, through her legal representatives, demanded not only a public apology but also the immediate removal of the false accusations from all associated social media platforms. In a new development that indicates a softening of tensions, Nancy Nnadi took to her Instagram page over the weekend to officially retract her statements. In her message, she emphasized that the ongoing peace resolution efforts are being led by well-respected religious leaders, referred to as the Fathers of Faith, and urged for God’s continued intervention in the process. “On the advice of my lawyer, and for the sake of peace and the love of God, I retract my earlier post about Minister Mercy Chinwo,” she wrote.“We also pray that Almighty God perfects the ongoing settlement process being facilitated by the Fathers of Faith between her and EeZee Conceptz.” Coach Nancy’s public apology and emphasis on peace reflect a significant shift in the trajectory of the matter and raises hopes of a possible out-of-court settlement. The gospel music community is watching closely, as this case continues to unfold. ? See her full Instagram post here: Coach Nancy’s Official Retraction

Rhapsody of Realities July 7th 2025, THE UNITY OF THE FAITH

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ (Ephesians 4:13). There’s a level of maturity that the Church of Jesus Christ all over the world is expected to come to before the Rapture of the Church. This doesn’t mean every individual will become mature overnight, because we’re still winning souls. Therefore, there’ll be baby Christians, and it’ll take time to train and raise them in the Word. But God’s people are growing, becoming more aware and more united in the faith. This will continue until such a time that there’ll be unity in the spirit. What unifies God’s people in this manner is the knowledge of the Word and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. What the opening scripture tells us isn’t something to be achieved in heaven but here on earth. Notice it says, “Till we all come…,” not just some of us but the whole Church moving in unity. Even the babes in Christ who don’t know much are expected to follow the guidance of those who have walked with the Lord longer. That’s why Paul could confidently say, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1). He said, “Copy me,” because he was following the Master. It’s like living in a city with a high level of enlightenment; even if someone never went to school, he or she would be cultured likewise by simply being in that environment. In Christ, we all live in God’s spiritual city: “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels” (Hebrews 12:22). We all are involved in this maturing of the Body of Christ: learning the Word, following the Lord’s guidance, and helping others to grow in Him until we, the Church, arrive at that place of maturity and unbroken unity that the Word describes. Ensure to play your role. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the ministry of the Holy Spirit and the knowledge of your Word that unifies and matures us in Christ. I yield myself to be a worthy example to those who are coming into the fold. As I follow Christ, I guide others by my words, actions and devotion to you. Thank you for your grace that enables me to walk in your wisdom and truth every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Nnamdi Kanu’s Unjust Detention While Nigeria Pardons Boko Haram: Igbo Leaders Condemn Federal Hypocrisy

A coalition of prominent Igbo leaders has strongly decried the ongoing detention of the pro-Biafran freedom advocate, Nnamdi Kanu, especially given the Nigerian government’s recent welcoming stance toward the deadly Boko Haram insurgents under the pretext of repentance and amnesty reintegration. The group criticized the federal authorities for allegedly doling out huge financial incentives to bandits, describing it as a failed appeasement strategy that risks further weakening the legitimacy of the Nigerian state as well as its security architecture. Issuing a press statement on Monday, the Igbo leaders demanded the unconditional and immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu, who they insist has suffered an unjust and unfair incarceration over the past four years solely for pursuing the legitimate right to self-determination on behalf of himself and the Igbo community. Their grievance lies in the stark contradiction: the same federal government that is willing to rehabilitate and reintegrate Boko Haram terrorists who have taken up arms against defenseless Nigerians, refuses to extend a similar olive branch to Nnamdi Kanu, a nonviolent agitator who never declared war against the Nigerian state. The statement bore the signatures of respected figures including Ben Nwankwo and Evans Nwankwo, Executive Directors of Ambassador for Self-Determination USA; AVID President Syvester Onyia; as well as members of Rising Sun Group, represented by Maxwell Dede and Father Odimegwa. Portions of the statement underlined the group’s frustration, declaring: “In what can only be described as an extraordinary hypocrisy, Nigeria’s federal government has embarked on a policy of rehabilitating and re-absorbing Boko Haram insurgents into mainstream society. At the same time, the government is spending vast sums of public funds to placate bandits through financial settlements, a deeply flawed tactic that erodes its own authority and compromises the nation’s security. On the other hand, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a determined freedom fighter committed to the cause of self-determination, remains unjustly locked away for courageously defending his people’s rights and dignity. The international community cannot, and must not, ignore this grave injustice. The continued imprisonment of Mazi Kanu is fueling a powerful wave of outrage across the world, demanding immediate intervention and redress. The recent condemnation of the Kenyan authorities by the global community for their role in the illegal abduction and extraordinary rendition of Mazi Kanu on Kenyan soil is indeed commendable. However, this action is merely the beginning in the long march to justice. There must be full investigation and accountability for all the Nigerian and Kenyan operatives who facilitated this brazen violation of international law. Until this injustice is corrected, we continue to call for the immediate and unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Our collective voice will never be silenced. We stand in unwavering solidarity for justice, human dignity, and the fundamental right to self-determination for every people.” By drawing attention to the contradictions in the government’s approach to security and conflict resolution, the Igbo leaders have amplified the call for justice for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. They argue that as long as armed insurgents can be reintegrated under government programs, a peaceful agitator like Kanu deserves no less than a fair hearing and an unconditional release from incarceration. The powerful statement continues to resonate among rights activists, legal advocates, and the global Igbo community who see Kanu’s continued detention as a troubling symbol of double standards in Nigeria’s justice system.

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Sets Date for Senate Return Following Court Reinstatement

Suspended senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents the Kogi Central Senatorial District, has officially disclosed plans to resume her legislative duties in Nigeria’s Senate chamber by Tuesday. The senator made this known in a video message currently making rounds on social media platforms while speaking to supporters who were visibly celebrating the favorable court judgment. Expressing heartfelt gratitude, Natasha acknowledged the loyalty and encouragement from her followers throughout the legal battle. “I sincerely thank you for standing by me. I am happy to announce that we have secured victory today. By God’s grace, we shall return to the Senate on Tuesday,” she declared in her video address. According to LMSINT MEDIA, a ruling delivered last Friday by the Federal High Court in Abuja pronounced that Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s six-month suspension from the Senate was not only excessive but also unconstitutional, violating the representation rights of her constituents in Kogi Central. The court judgment, which was handed down by Justice Binta Nyako, ordered Natasha’s immediate reinstatement. In addition, Justice Nyako emphasized that a post Natasha published — described as a satirical apology directed toward the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio — was in breach of an existing interim injunction granted on March 4, 2025. That injunction had prohibited all parties in the matter from issuing public statements or posting about the dispute on social media platforms. Ultimately, the verdict affirmed Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s entitlement to resume her legislative responsibilities without further delay, giving her supporters a reason to celebrate as she looks forward to rejoining the National Assembly next week.
