Governor Uba Sani: Northern Nigeria Shouldn’t Blame Tinubu for Its Own Failures

Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has stated unequivocally that the challenges plaguing Northern Nigeria are largely the result of internal mismanagement and not the fault of President Bola Tinubu. In a recent interview aired on Arise News and monitored in Abuja, the governor emphasized that blaming the current administration for the North’s marginalization is a diversion from self-accountability. The governor also highlighted the outcomes of a crucial 2-day public forum hosted by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna and explained the strategies his administration has employed to restore peace and stability in the state. Insights from the Kaduna Public Engagement Forum Governor Sani described the Kaduna event as a long-overdue platform for internal reflection within the North. He noted that six months earlier, the same foundation held a similar gathering in Abuja, which drew sharp criticism from him and other stakeholders for failing to foster constructive dialogue. According to him, the Northern region must stop pointing fingers outward and instead confront its shared challenges with a united approach. “We can’t sit around blaming others, especially those outside our region. That includes President Tinubu. If the North wants real change, it must start by taking full responsibility,” he said. Examining the Claims of Marginalization Senator Sani dismissed the narrative that the North is politically sidelined under the Tinubu administration by citing clear examples of federal appointments. He emphasized that Northern Nigeria holds many strategic positions: In the context of agricultural development, the governor revealed that Kaduna now allocates 12% of its budget to agriculture, surpassing the 10% benchmark set by the 2014 Malabo Declaration. This feat, he said, was made possible because key policymakers in agriculture are from the region, proving that the North is not excluded but is instead positioned for transformation—if it seizes the opportunity. Kaduna’s Success in Restoring Peace and Security Governor Sani provided a detailed account of how his administration brought relative peace to a once conflict-ridden Kaduna State. Upon taking office, Kaduna was plagued by insurgency, banditry, and ethnic-religious clashes. Yet, under his leadership: “We didn’t wait for President Tinubu to come and teach us how to govern. We embraced inclusivity and justice at the grassroots level,” he explained. He said the success was rooted in equitable distribution of resources and an unwavering commitment to governance over politics. Despite initial electoral support from Northern Kaduna, his administration has embarked on widespread infrastructure development across the state, regardless of religion or ethnicity. Revisiting the Origin of Northern Insecurity Governor Sani offered historical context, recalling how insecurity began to escalate in 2015, worsened by 2021, under a previous APC administration. Before becoming governor, he chaired the Senate Committee on Banking and was the sponsor of the State Police bill. He expressed disappointment that the Firearms Act, which is over two decades outdated, remains a significant obstacle to tackling insecurity. “The Nigerian military and police combined still have fewer than 700,000 personnel—insufficient for securing a country with massive ungoverned spaces,” he warned. He also noted that 70% of the 200–250 million illegal firearms circulating in sub-Saharan Africa are found in Nigeria, largely due to weak institutions and outdated laws. Tangible Progress Amid Challenges Providing concrete examples, the governor stated that: “Birnin Gwari is now secure. Farmers are back on their land, and trade has resumed. That’s what progress looks like,” he said confidently. Kaduna’s Distinct Approach to Security While acknowledging that other Northern states face security threats, Governor Sani asserted that Kaduna’s situation was particularly severe. Unlike the ideological battle with Boko Haram in the North East, he described Kaduna’s crisis as economically driven. This, he said, prompted a dual strategy combining both military force (kinetic) and social reintegration (non-kinetic) methods. Contrary to claims, his administration never paid off bandits but instead invested in rebuilding homes for displaced victims. “I gave homes to victims, not a naira to bandits. That’s justice,” he stressed. Conclusion: It’s Time for Northern Self-Reflection Governor Uba Sani’s message was clear: the North must stop externalizing blame and begin addressing its structural issues internally. With the right leadership approach, as seen in Kaduna, lasting development and security are achievable.

Instagram Implements 1,000-Follower Requirement to Access Live Video Feature

Instagram has officially updated its live-streaming policy, now mandating that users must have at least 1,000 followers and a public profile to utilize the Live video feature. This adjustment was confirmed to TechCrunch by the Meta-owned social platform, marking a significant shift from its previous open-access approach. Previously, Instagram permitted all users to initiate a live session, regardless of how many followers they had or whether their account was set to private. This change introduces a major limitation, particularly impacting small creators and everyday users who simply enjoyed going live with friends or followers in real-time. Accounts that no longer meet the new eligibility standard—specifically, those with fewer than 1,000 followers and not set to public—will encounter a system notification when attempting to use the Live feature. The platform will display a message stating:“We changed requirements to use this feature. Only public accounts with 1,000 followers or more will be able to create live videos.” Since the update rolled out, several users have taken to various social media platforms to express dissatisfaction. Some have voiced strong objections and are even petitioning Instagram to reverse the decision, emphasizing the impact on community engagement and freedom of expression. With this modification, Instagram is now aligning its policy with TikTok, which also enforces a 1,000-follower threshold for live video access. By comparison, YouTube maintains a more relaxed requirement, allowing live streaming from channels that have at least 50 subscribers. Although Instagram has not issued an official, detailed explanation for this shift, it indicated the change is intended to enhance the Live viewing experience across the platform. By setting this follower count minimum, the company appears to be aiming to filter out lower-quality streams and ensure that only users with a reasonably established audience can broadcast live. Additionally, industry experts speculate that cost reduction may be another driving factor. Hosting live video content incurs substantial operational expenses, and Meta (Instagram’s parent company) may be attempting to limit those costs by reducing live sessions with only a handful of viewers. By refining who can access this feature, Meta can potentially save resources while maintaining a more premium user experience.

Artists Accusing Peers of Using Streaming Farms: Odumodublvck Pushes Back

Rapper Odumodublvck has responded to recent murmurs in the music community about streaming farms, taking a dismissive stance toward colleagues who have leveled such accusations. According to him, the repeated invocation of stream manipulation by some fellow artists is less about exposing fraud and more about masking their own underperformance in metrics. He contends that when a song truly resonates with listeners—when it is genuinely strong and embraced by the public—artificial tactics like streaming farms become irrelevant in determining its visibility or impact on charts. In his view, authenticity and audience affection eventually surface, regardless of attempts to explain away mediocre streaming numbers with claims of manipulation. Furthermore, Odumodublvck suggested that the artists leading the charge on these allegations are driven by internal doubts about their own work. He characterized their behavior as rooted in insecurity: preemptively rationalizing potential failure by sowing doubt about the legitimacy of others’ success. In a message posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, he addressed the general public directly, urging them not to be misled. His post read in part: “Dear public, Do not let them deceive you. No matter how much a song is stream farmed, if your song is good and the people love it, it will show. All this one na small pikin scopes and antics. Insecurities. Trynna prepare the table for incase you fail. Losers.” The timing of Odumodublvck’s statement comes amid growing public discussion from other prominent Nigerian artists—specifically Blaqbonez and Magixx—who have voiced deep concerns that streaming farms are inflicting what they describe as “irreversible damage” on the local music ecosystem. Their position frames artificial stream inflation as a systemic threat, whereas Odumodublvck frames the emphasis on it as a smokescreen for personal shortcomings. The differing perspectives have intensified the debate over authenticity, metrics, and reputation in the Nigerian music scene.

Arsenal Shift Transfer Focus from Rodrygo to Eberechi Eze and Anthony Gordon

Arsenal have decided to end their pursuit of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo and instead are setting their sights on two standout performers from the Premier League: Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze and Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, as reported by Spanish outlet Diario AS. Previously, Rodrygo had been strongly linked with a potential move to Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and other elite European clubs during this summer’s transfer window. Despite this interest, the Brazilian forward is reportedly uninterested in signing for Tottenham, dismissively viewing Spurs as a club beneath the level he aspires to play for. At 24 years old, Rodrygo is believed to be open to leaving Los Blancos, particularly after falling down the pecking order under the leadership of Real Madrid’s current head coach Xabi Alonso. However, before committing to a transfer, the winger is said to be demanding reassurances from Alonso regarding more consistent playing time in the upcoming season. His dissatisfaction stems from a lack of regular involvement in Real Madrid’s campaign at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where Chelsea emerged champions. Rodrygo’s limited minutes in such a prestigious competition have added to his frustrations, prompting speculation that he may seek greener pastures if guaranteed a leading role elsewhere. Currently, Real Madrid are open to selling three players this summer, and Rodrygo is believed to be among those available for the right offer. Arsenal, in response to this uncertainty, have decided to divert their attention toward Premier League-based targets, namely Eze and Gordon, both of whom have demonstrated consistent quality and versatility in domestic competition.

Transfer News Update: Manchester United Now Sole Contender for Benjamin Sesko Signing

Manchester United have emerged as the only club still actively pursuing the transfer of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, after Newcastle United officially pulled out of the race. The Red Devils are now clear frontrunners in the battle for the Slovenian star, as Newcastle have shifted their attention to finding a new striker to potentially replace Alexander Isak, who appears set on an exit. Sources close to Newcastle United’s transfer operations confirmed that the club has decided against pursuing Sesko further. Club officials believe they are unlikely to outbid or outmaneuver Manchester United in a direct competition for the 21-year-old’s signature. According to a detailed report by Goal, Manchester United have already communicated their intention to RB Leipzig to make a formal bid for Sesko. The striker, who is currently valued at approximately £64 million, has climbed to the top of Manchester United’s transfer wishlist. This shift reportedly follows internal disagreements at the club concerning which striker should be prioritized during this summer window. While some speculated that Rasmus Højlund could be offloaded to make space, reports now indicate that he is expected to remain at Old Trafford. Instead, newly appointed manager Rúben Amorim is said to view Sesko as a strong competitor for the Danish forward, not a replacement. This latest development suggests that Manchester United are restructuring their attacking lineup, preparing for a season of heightened competition and depth in the forward positions.

Ballon d’Or 2025: Gavi Predicts Lamine Yamal Will Win Multiple Awards Even If He Misses This Year’s Title

Barcelona and Spanish midfield sensation Gavi has expressed unwavering confidence in his teammate Lamine Yamal, stating that even if the talented forward doesn’t secure the Ballon d’Or 2025, he is destined to win numerous Ballon d’Or trophies in the years to come. Among the prominent names being mentioned as favorites for the world’s most prestigious football award include Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe, Vitinha, Pedri, Mohamed Salah, Raphinha, and Ousmane Dembele. Under the tactical guidance of Hansi Flick, the young prodigy played a vital role in helping the Catalan giants clinch both the LaLiga championship and the Copa del Rey title — a domestic double that significantly boosted his Ballon d’Or credentials. In an exclusive interview with Diario AS, Gavi opened up about Yamal’s Ballon d’Or prospects. He shared his admiration for the forward’s rapid development and impressive form. “I genuinely hope he wins it. But even if he doesn’t take it home this year, it’s important to remember he’s just 18 — still extremely young in the football world,” Gavi told Diario AS. “To be considered among the frontrunners for such a prestigious award at this stage of his career is already remarkable. I feel really proud of everything he’s achieving with us at the club.” “He’s a phenomenal footballer — constantly improving. Every training session with him feels special. He always pushes his limits and stays focused.” “With the mindset and dedication he’s showing, even if the Ballon d’Or 2025 slips through his fingers, I have no doubt he’ll secure many of them in the future,” Gavi concluded. Yamal’s name has become synonymous with explosive talent and rising stardom, especially after his consistent standout performances in top competitions. The fact that he’s already in the elite discussion for the Ballon d’Or at such a tender age underscores his extraordinary potential.

Rhapsody of Realities August 1st 2025, THE BEAUTY OF THE GOSPEL

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19). It’s normal to describe the people of the world, those who haven’t received salvation, as sinners. However, it’s important to know that they were not made sinners by their own actions but by Adam’s transgression. Romans 5:12 explains this some more; it says, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” That means all were made sinners because of Adam’s disobedience. But the beauty of the Gospel is this: Just as one man’s disobedience made many sinners, so also, through the obedience of one man, Jesus Christ, many are made righteous: “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” (Romans 5:19).Blessed be God! This is the Gospel we’ve been sent to preach: a Gospel of life and righteousness. Don’t try to convince people that they are sinners. Instead, let them know why they needed salvation in the first place; it was Adam’s transgression; it brought death into the world and that death was passed into everything. But thanks be unto God; our Lord Jesus Christ brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel (2 Timothy 1:10). He was made sin for us who knew no sin so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). 1 John 5:11 says, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.” This is the Gospel: It’s the message of life, victory and righteousness in Christ Jesus. This is the message we must proclaim to the whole world. Hallelujah! CONFESSIONIn Christ, I have received life, victory and righteousness; I am justified in Him. Thank you, Lord, for the glorious Gospel that brings salvation and illuminates the hearts of men with the knowledge of Christ’s finished works. I walk in the fullness of life and reign in righteousness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Luis Diaz’s Move to Bayern Munich: How Florian Wirtz’s Advice Sealed the £65.5m Deal

How Florian Wirtz’s Bundesliga Praise Influenced Luis Diaz’s Transfer Decision Colombian winger Luis Diaz has revealed that an encouraging conversation with German midfielder Florian Wirtz played a key role in his decision to join Bayern Munich from Liverpool in a £65.5 million transfer. Although their time as teammates at Liverpool FC was brief, Wirtz – who himself made headlines earlier this summer with a high-profile transfer to the Premier League from Bayer Leverkusen – provided valuable insight into life in Germany, the intensity of the Bundesliga, and the appeal of Munich as a city. Speaking to reporters shortly after inking his four-year deal with the German giants, Diaz disclosed: “I already had some familiarity with the German league and a basic understanding of the playing style. But yes, I got the chance to speak to Florian. He explained that, although the Bundesliga differs from the Premier League, it’s still intense and very physical. He highlighted the quality of football, passionate fans, and packed stadiums.” Diaz continued: “Florian also told me how beautiful Munich is and assured me I’d enjoy my time here. He wished me good luck. I’m genuinely thankful for that chat – it definitely encouraged me.” From Anfield to Allianz Arena: Luis Diaz Reflects on the Switch Diaz completed his medical in Bavaria on Tuesday, just after Liverpool accepted Bayern’s final offer. Following the official announcement of his signing, the 28-year-old expressed immense pride about the move: “It’s an honor to join FC Bayern – undeniably one of the world’s greatest football clubs,” Diaz said on Bayern’s official site. “I look forward to contributing my playing style and character to help the team achieve success.” The winger had been part of Liverpool’s squad since his move from FC Porto three and a half years ago. In that time, Diaz played 148 matches and scored 41 goals, becoming a consistent presence on the left wing. Why Diaz Left Liverpool Despite Contract Talks Reports suggest Diaz had privately communicated his intention to leave Liverpool as early as the previous summer. Though the club was keen to retain him, even attempting to renew his contract twice, negotiations reportedly broke down due to differences in salary expectations and long-term terms. Despite efforts from the Anfield hierarchy, Diaz remained unconvinced, ultimately choosing to embrace a new challenge in Germany’s top flight. Bayern Defends Diaz’s Transfer Value Amid Age Concerns Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Max Eberl, addressed criticism surrounding the hefty price tag for a 28-year-old player, noting the club’s faith in Diaz’s proven quality: “Age is naturally part of the discussion during transfers. But it’s just one factor among many. You can see how clubs are paying massive fees for 20- or 21-year-olds these days. In our case, Diaz’s talent and experience made the decision straightforward,” Eberl explained. He continued: “What matters is today. We aim to win trophies together. If we succeed, no one will be talking about transfer fees. If things don’t work out, it’s something we’ll handle, but right now, we believe Diaz is worth every penny.”

Victor Osimhen Seals €75 Million Record Transfer to Galatasaray from Napoli

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has officially signed a permanent deal with Turkish football giants Galatasaray, concluding a high-profile €75 million transfer from Napoli — the most expensive in Turkish football history. The 26-year-old, who played a crucial role in Napoli’s 2023 Serie A championship win, had already spent the last season on loan at the Istanbul club. During his temporary stay, Osimhen made an outstanding impact by scoring 26 goals in just 30 league games, significantly contributing to Galatasaray’s triumph in securing their 25th Super Lig title. Signs of a permanent move began to emerge earlier in the week when Osimhen was noticeably absent from Napoli’s pre-season training sessions. This absence fueled speculation that both clubs were finalizing terms for a full transfer. Despite returning to Italy after his loan spell, Osimhen was not included in new Napoli manager Antonio Conte’s strategic plans for the upcoming season. This exclusion accelerated Galatasaray’s efforts to bring him back on a permanent basis. The transfer process, which had been in limbo for several weeks due to disagreements surrounding payment structures, finally concluded on Thursday after both parties reached an agreement. This breakthrough allowed Galatasaray to finalize the acquisition of the prolific forward. With this deal, Osimhen becomes Galatasaray’s most expensive player ever and sets a new transfer benchmark in Turkish football history. Meanwhile, Napoli has swiftly responded to Osimhen’s departure by strengthening their squad. The Italian club has secured the signature of Kevin De Bruyne, the talented Belgian midfielder formerly of Manchester City, to bolster their midfield lineup.

LaLiga: Spanish Judge Rejects Real Madrid’s Request to Reschedule Osasuna Season Opener

In a recent development from the Spanish football league, Real Madrid’s official request to postpone their opening LaLiga match against CA Osasuna has been firmly denied. The decision was made by Spanish Football Federation judge José Alberto Peláez, who reviewed and ruled on the appeal. The club, popularly known as Los Blancos, had submitted a formal request to delay their league opener due to their recent participation in the FIFA Club World Cup. Madrid cited insufficient recovery time as the primary reason behind the appeal. The Spanish giants last appeared on the pitch during the Club World Cup semifinal, where they faced Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on July 9, suffering a 4-0 defeat. This marked their final game in the tournament, and they returned to Spain to begin their off-season. Following this, LaLiga scheduled their 2025/2026 league opener against Osasuna for August 19, precisely 41 days after the PSG match. Real Madrid argued that this schedule violated the “minimum rest and preparation period” outlined in the Spanish professional footballers’ collective agreement. According to the club, the schedule did not align with labor protections guaranteeing sufficient recovery for players between competitions. Despite their argument, Judge Peláez dismissed the appeal in his official verdict released on Thursday. In his explanation, he confirmed that the players’ official rest period began on July 11, which gave them a full 21 days of uninterrupted rest — the exact amount stipulated by the collective labor agreement governing professional football in Spain. The ruling means Real Madrid must proceed with their opening fixture on August 19 as originally planned, ending any hope of a schedule revision. The club now has to recalibrate its preseason and player preparation plans to comply with the current LaLiga calendar.

The Brazilian star, who made a high-profile move to Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018, has continued to shine on the global stage. Since breaking into the first team at Los Blancos, Vinicius has played a pivotal role in many of the club’s victories, solidifying his status as one of football’s brightest talents. Now 25, Vinicius has publicly named five sporting icons who shaped his outlook on both football and personal ambition. His list includes some of the most influential names in football history and one of the biggest stars in the NBA. “My idols are Cristiano Ronaldo, LeBron James and our Brazilian legends Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar,” Vinicius stated in an interview with GQ Spain, as cited by Madrid Zone. The list reflects a blend of both national pride and international influence. From fellow Brazilians Neymar, Ronaldinho, and Ronaldo Nazário, to global megastars like Cristiano Ronaldo and LeBron James, Vinicius credits these figures for inspiring his mentality and style of play. The Brazilian winger also emphasized how surreal it feels to be playing at the top level in both club and international football. “Playing for the biggest club in the world and Brazil National Team still feels like a dream,” he added, expressing deep gratitude for the opportunity to represent Real Madrid and the Seleção Brasileira. Vinicius nearly clinched the prestigious Ballon d’Or last season, finishing as runner-up to Manchester City‘s midfield maestro, Rodri. The close call demonstrates just how far Vinicius has come, and how his dedication—fueled by his idols—continues to elevate his career.
