Sacrificial Living: A Call to Action for Nigerian Leaders and Citizens in 2025

1 minute, 6 seconds Read

Elder statesman and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Bamanga Tukur, has urged Nigerians to embrace selflessness and compassion as the nation steps into 2025.

Dr. Tukur, who also served as the former president of the Africa Business Roundtable, emphasized the importance of leaders prioritizing the welfare of citizens living in poverty. He warned against the growing disparity between the wealthy minority and the struggling majority, calling it an unsustainable situation.

In his New Year message, Tukur highlighted the need for the Nigerian elite to adopt a lifestyle of sacrificial giving and selfless service. He expressed concern over the economic challenges that prevented many families from participating in the recent festive celebrations.

“Let us extend compassion to the millions of Nigerians who live below the poverty line as we begin the new year,” Tukur said. “A society where a few individuals control so much wealth while the majority barely survive cannot thrive.”

The elder statesman called for increased patriotism and unity among politicians during these challenging times. He urged Nigerians to put aside their differences and work together to build a prosperous, democratic nation that future generations can be proud of.
