The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has warmly welcomed his wife, Olori Ashley Ogunwusi, and their son, Prince Ademakinwa, to the palace in Ile-Ife, Osun State, after five months.
A lavish homecoming ceremony took place on Friday, drawing the presence of traditional rulers, dignitaries, and well-wishers who gathered at the royal palace to celebrate the queen and the newborn prince.
Prince Ademakinwa’s Birth and Royal Heritage
Born on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Princess Royal Hospital in London, United Kingdom, Prince Ademakinwa’s arrival was officially announced by the Ooni on Instagram.
In his post, the Ooni of Ife expressed gratitude, stating:
“Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Folashade, who today birthed a Prince from the mother’s side of Ooni Adagba Royal Compound of Lafogido Ruling House and the father’s side of Ooni Agbedegbede Royal Compound of Giesi Ruling House, both linked to the Royal throne of Oduduwa.”
Olori Ashley Reflects on Her Past Miscarriage
Olori Ashley also shared her emotional journey, revealing she previously suffered a miscarriage of twins at 14 weeks in 2023.
In her heartfelt Instagram post, she reflected on her experience, saying:
“Even though the enemies tried to challenge our relationship for nearly a decade, Olodumare has remained faithful. Last year was tough as our set of twins gained their wings at 14 weeks, but Olodumare remained faithful. He promised us a son to carry our forebears’ lineage—a true CROWN PRINCE—and now we have been blessed with our gorgeous son, who is not just a prince of the source but our Crown Prince from both parental lineages.”
