The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, recently paid a condolence visit to the Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi, and his wife, Hadiza Namadi, following the tragic loss of their son, Abdulwahab. She prayed for divine solace for the Namadi family and the people of Jigawa State, stating, “God owns us all and determines our time. He can call us home at any moment. I pray that my next visit here will be a time of joy.”
Governor Namadi, in his brief comments, expressed sincere gratitude to the First Lady for her personal visit, which he described as the highest form of condolence. He acknowledged that the deaths of his son and his mother, who passed away just one day earlier, were God’s will, a reality he and his family must accept.
The governor also conveyed his appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, who reached out to him personally following the heartbreaking events, just as the First Lady had done. The Vice President’s wife led prayers for the grieving family and the state during the visit.
Governor Namadi’s mother, Maryam Namadi, passed away on December 25 after a brief illness, while his son, Abdulwahab, tragically died in a car accident on December 26 at the age of 24.
