In Acts 3, Luke tells us about the miraculous healing of a certain man who was crippled from birth and laid at the gate of the temple called Beautiful. The miracle attracted the attention of a large crowd, and Peter, seizing the moment, addressed the crowd, explaining the source of the healing to be the Name of Jesus. He emphasized that it was through faith in the Name of Jesus that the man was made strong and restored to health. The authority and power in the Name of Jesus demonstrate His deity. No wonder the Bible tells us, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” (Philippians 2:9-10). ABUJA: In a landmark move to strengthen intelligence gathering and improve engagement with persons with disabilities, particularly the deaf community, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has officially certified 250 of its personnel in Sign Language proficiency. This milestone marks the first of its kind within Nigeria’s Defence, Security, and Intelligence sectors. During the graduation ceremony in Abuja for participants of the Basic Signs Language Proficiency Training, the Commandant of the NSCDC Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu, emphasized that the initiative is a strategic response to bridging existing security communication gaps within society. He highlighted that this training complements the various capacity-building initiatives that the Command has undertaken over the past two years to establish a resilient, professional, and inclusive security outfit tailored to the evolving dynamics of the FCT. “By acquiring these critical skills, you are now able to bridge communication barriers and ensure that all citizens, irrespective of their hearing abilities, across the six Area Councils of the FCT, feel included, protected, and connected to the security framework in place,” said Dr. Odumosu. The Commandant further explained that the participants, drawn from every Division, Area Command, and the Command Headquarters, have a role that transcends conventional security operations. Their training equips them to not only provide protection but to also understand and address the diverse needs of all community members, particularly at the grassroots level. “Security that works is security that listens. This is the true God, and eternal life (1 John 5:20). The Lord Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life. That, indeed, is who the Messiah was supposed to be. Generations of prophets foretold His coming, and when Jesus came and declared Himself the Christ—God manifested in human form—many rejected Him, accusing Him of blasphemy. But He was right. Titus 2:13-14 NKJV refers to Him as our great God and Saviour who gave Himself for us: “looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” No religious leader matches these credentials but our Lord Jesus Christ. All the leaders of various religions died and remained dead. Only Jesus Christ resurrected and ascended to heaven alive. It’s only His Name that has power to cast out devils, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and raise the dead. Furthermore, the remission of sins is only possible through Jesus Christ. Acts 13:38-39 NKJV says, “Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.” 1 John 5:11-12 NKJV says, “And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” Jesus is the only one to give His life for all humanity; He gave His divine life so you could have eternal life. Now, because you’ve received Him, your natural human life has been supplanted by the God-life; you’re now born of God: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13). He gave us eternal life because He’s Himself eternal life. Jesus is the true God and eternal life. Hallelujah! In a recent update that has caught the attention of many Nigerians, petroleum product marketers across the country have officially reduced the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, starting from today, Tuesday. This price adjustment coincides with the federal government’s declaration of a national public holiday to pay respect to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. The former president passed away in London on Sunday, July 14th, 2025, and will be laid to rest on Tuesday in Daura, Katsina State. Abubakar Maigandi, the National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), confirmed this development in an exclusive interview with LMSINT MEDIA on Monday. He stated that the price reduction decision was reached after a strategic meeting of IPMAN members in Abuja on Monday. Maigandi explained that the move was prompted by Dangote Refinery’s recent adjustment of its ex-depot price, reducing it from N840 to N820 per litre. This refinery, noted as Africa’s largest, has now lowered the fuel price twice in July 2025 alone. As a result, IPMAN members have committed to lowering their pump prices beginning today. Specifically, petrol will now be sold in Abuja between N900 and N920 per litre, a reduction from the previous rates of N905 to N945 per litre. In Maigandi’s words: “We convened on Tuesday and collectively agreed to cut the petrol price to between N900 and N920 per litre for our Abuja and north-central zone members. Similarly, in other regions across Nigeria, our members will adjust prices downward to between N860 and N890 per litre.” The reduction in fuel prices has been widely welcomed by Nigerians, who have seen a gradual decrease in petrol costs over the past few weeks. This trend is also supported by the broader economic conditions, including a significant drop in global crude oil prices. As of Monday, Brent Crude traded at $69.10 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood at $66.98 per barrel, both declining from previous figures above $70 per barrel. Furthermore, Maigandi emphasized that the continuous decrease in petrol prices is a direct benefit of the ongoing liberalization of Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector. Marketers credit Dangote Refinery’s pricing decisions and the deregulated market for enabling such reductions, providing some economic relief to citizens during challenging times. It’s worth noting that IPMAN had earlier hinted at an imminent petrol price slash, which aligns with Dangote Refinery’s earlier move to reduce its ex-depot price. In further honour of the deceased leader, Tinubu revealed that an emergency Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday. The President also confirmed that the Federal Government will conduct a full state funeral to celebrate Buhari’s exceptional service and contributions to the nation. “The federal government will provide full state honours to President Muhammadu Buhari, recognizing his towering contributions to Nigeria,” the statement further stated. The burial of Muhammadu Buhari is planned for Monday in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in line with Islamic traditions.
