The Ekiti State Police Command has apprehended a man, Victor Lorjaal, for allegedly murdering his mother, Mrs. Victoria Lorjaal, and elder sister, Brenda Lorjaal, using a machete.
Tragic Incident at Itaji-Ekiti Farm
According to a statement released on Thursday by Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, the horrific event occurred on Tuesday at approximately 7:10 a.m. at Aba Ile Camp, Itaji-Ekiti.
An eyewitness, who is also one of the deceased’s children, recounted that while working alongside the suspect on the farm, Victor Lorjaal abruptly left and approached their mother and sister at a separate location where they were engaged in farm work. Shortly after, the eyewitness heard distressed cries for help from their mother, but upon arriving at the scene, he found both victims already attacked, while the suspect had fled with the weapon.
Police Investigation Underway
Confirming the incident, SP Abutu disclosed that Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, has ordered a thorough investigation into the case.
“The suspect will be prosecuted as soon as investigations are concluded,” Abutu assured.
The Ekiti State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining public safety.
