According to SP Abdullahi Haruna, the spokesperson for the Kano Police Command:

“The Kano State Police Command successfully arrested the suspect on December 25, 2024, after a well-coordinated operation. The child was rescued from a hideout in Unguwar Liman, Dorayi Quarters, Kano, and was immediately taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialists Hospital for medical attention. The boy has since been discharged and reunited with his family.”

The suspect has been charged to Magistrate Court Number 25 in Nomansland, Kano, and is currently in custody pending further legal proceedings.
