Hilda Baci Plans to Cook 250 Bags of Rice to Break Guinness World Record for Largest Jollof Pot

Former Guinness World Record (GWR) holder for marathon cooking, Hilda Baci, is preparing for yet another extraordinary culinary achievement. This time, the Nigerian celebrity chef has announced her intention to cook 250 bags of rice in a massive pot, aiming to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest jollof rice pot in the world.

The announcement was made public by Hilda on Monday through a viral video shared on her official Instagram page, where she revealed the massive scale of the project.

The Scale of the Cooking Challenge

According to Hilda, the extraordinary cooking will be done using a giant pot with a capacity of 22,619 litres. Describing the pot, she explained that it measures 6 meters in width, 1.1 meters in height, and approximately 1.3 meters in depth. With confidence, she reassured her fans that the pot is strong enough to withstand the cooking without sinking.

Speaking further on the project, Hilda Baci disclosed:

“I’m making the executive decision to cook 250 bags of basmati rice. The pot is 6 meters wide by 6 meters wide, 1.1 meters tall, and about 1.3 meters deep. I’m sure the pot is not going to sink.”

Event Date and Target

The highly anticipated cooking event is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2025. Beyond setting a world record, the goal of the project is to feed over 10,000 people, making it not just a Guinness Record attempt but also a community-impactful event.

This remarkable challenge comes two years after Hilda Baci etched her name into global recognition by breaking the record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, during which she cooked continuously for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
