Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has authorized the immediate dismissal of the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister C.O.C. Akaolisa.
This announcement was made public through an official press release issued by the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy, Declan Emelumba.
The press release directed the former Attorney General to transfer all government assets under his custody to the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Imo State Ministry of Justice without delay.
Barrister Akaolisa had been a central figure in Governor Uzodinma’s inner circle and held the office since the beginning of the administration’s first term.
His dismissal comes just a few weeks after the removal of the recently appointed Chief Judge of the state, Theophilus Nzeukwu. The Nigeria Judicial Council had recommended his removal, citing irregularities in the appointment process.
