Fire Breaks Out At Christ Apostolic Church In Ibadan

A devastating fire broke out at Christ Apostolic Church in Wisdom Estate, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Friday night, trapping several worshippers during the vigil. The blaze began at approximately 9:30 PM along Olohunda Road in Lagelu Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses shared that some worshippers had already fallen asleep in preparation for the vigil when the fire ignited. One witness recalled, “Some people had already slept off when the fire started.” Another onlooker described the chaos, stating, “An elderly woman, unable to walk, was still inside the church when the fire raged.”

The Oyo State Fire Services were quickly alerted and arrived at the scene. Akinyemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the agency, confirmed the fire but stated that the cause is still under investigation.

Efforts to assess the full damage and potential casualties are ongoing.
