The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has urged the people of Kano to remain calm and avoid actions that could stir up unrest, asserting that anyone attempting to disrupt the peace of the ancient city will ultimately face the consequences of their actions.

In a widely shared video, Emir Sanusi responded to the Court of Appeal’s recent ruling in his favor, which confirmed that the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction over emirate matters. He emphasized that those who brought the case to court were aware of the legal limits and were only acting to further their personal interests and create tension in the region.

He said, “The Appeal Court’s decision today confirms what we all knew: the Federal High Court had no authority over these issues. Those who pushed for this case knew this truth, as did the judge who initially issued the order. For the past eight months, some have been working to stir trouble here for selfish reasons.”

Despite these attempts, Emir Sanusi praised the people of Kano for their peaceful response, pointing out that the state had not descended into violence or disorder. He called for continued peace and unity among the people, stating that this struggle was not theirs but God’s, and that divine intervention was the key to peace.

Emir Sanusi concluded with a powerful prayer, saying, “Let us continue to pray for God’s guidance and protection. Those who wish to bring chaos to Kano will be consumed by the consequences of their actions.”

He urged the people not to retaliate against those trying to incite violence, warning that those who challenge God’s judgment will ultimately face repercussions.
