A military base in Kareto, located in Borno State’s remote Mobbar Local Government Area in northeastern Nigeria, came under multiple deadly attacks on Tuesday. Local residents and military sources reported that the assailants, identified as members of the Boko Haram terrorist group, targeted the base with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and gunfire, leading to the tragic loss of over a dozen soldiers.

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. In a statement released by Usman Tar, Borno State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, the governor said:
