In a significant political development, the Benue State House of Assembly has officially reinstated the last batch of seven lawmakers previously suspended since February 2025. This decision marks the end of a protracted disciplinary process that had captivated the interest of the public and media alike.
Their reinstatement comes shortly after six other suspended colleagues were recalled by the House just a month prior.
During the Assembly’s plenary session, the Majority Leader, Comrade Saater Tiseer, presented the formal letter that outlined the lawmakers’ request for reinstatement. The document indicated that the suspended members had shown genuine remorse and provided assurances to maintain honorable conduct in future engagements.
In appreciation of the resolution, several members of the Assembly praised Speaker Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh and the leadership of the House. They lauded the leadership’s generosity and strategic approach in resolving the matter, emphasizing that such magnanimity strengthens democratic institutions.
