A Heartbreaking Incident On Friday, January 11, 2025, tragedy struck again when eight-year-old Ubueda and her three-year-old brother, Mohammed Naziru, were targeted. The siblings had just attended Jumat prayers at a nearby mosque. A hijab-wearing woman approached them and handed Ubueda a crumpled ₦500 note, instructing her to buy yoghurt worth ₦150. Trusting the stranger, Ubueda complied, only to return and discover that her younger brother had disappeared. This devastating event marked the fifth abduction in the area within a short time. Residents were left shaken, fearing for the safety of their children. Suspect Apprehended Three days after the incident, the suspect resurfaced in the same community. Naziru’s older sister immediately recognized her as the alleged kidnapper. The woman attempted to flee but was caught by a mob. However, thanks to the swift intervention of police officers from the Sabo division, she was saved from being lynched. Despite her arrest, the woman has refused to disclose the boy’s whereabouts. She pretended to be mentally ill when transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID). A Father’s Agonizing Plea Naziru’s father, Alhaji Idris Adamu, shared his anguish over his missing son: “When I got the call about my son’s abduction, I rushed home and saw the mob attacking the woman. If you’re joyful in your spirit, happiness naturally follows. Happiness is a state of mind, but joy produces so much more. The fruits of joy include laughter, celebration and dancing. Even giving is one of the fruits of joy. Joyful people give freely. Have you observed that when someone asks you for something at a moment when you’re full of joy, it’s almost always a “yes?” You can hardly say no because giving flows naturally from joy. And guess what? When you’re full of joy in the presence of the Lord, He grants the desires of your heart as the Bible says, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart” (Psalm 37:4). Your joy releases blessings. When your heart is filled with joy and delight for the things of God, your desires are fulfilled. It’s one of the reasons your personal praise and worship to the Lord is so important. Those are moments of spiritual ecstasy, where your heart is knit with the Spirit in joyful effusions of gratitude, in celebration of His great glory, goodness and awesome majesty. So, learn to rejoice evermore in the spirit, in the presence of God. He brings colour into my life. I live a wonderful, colourful, beautiful, and productive life. I rejoice because the Lord Jesus has overcome this world for me. I have been made more than a conqueror in this life. I live in the victory Christ provided me; therefore, I am not afraid of sickness, for I reign in life through Christ Jesus. There’s no death in my path! In my path are life, health, blessings, peace, and prosperity. Christ is my wisdom, and the Word of God informs me daily, through the Holy Spirit. I’m filled with the fullness of God; loaded with all power, glory, might, and grace! The totality of divinity is fully present in my spirit and uniquely expressed through me! I display the perfections of Christ in sound health and with a life that is sickness-free. I have the life of God in me. That life destroys sickness and death; therefore, I walk in health and wellness. I cannot be sick! Divinity works and flows from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. I thank the Lord for this great grace that I lavishly enjoy. God’s stamp and seal of perfection are on me, certifying my health, success, victory, effectiveness, and glory. Every day God loads me with great benefits. In His favour my horn is exalted. I am in sync with God’s plans and purposes for my life. There are no impossibilities with me. Eternity is alive in me.
