All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made (John 1:1-3). Everything that God does is through the agency of His Word. This is a very fundamental and essential truth to always be conscious of. God’s Word is His creative material. From Genesis 1, we learn that God created everything through His Word. The Bible says, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Then, verse 3 says, “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” His Word brought order and life to what was a chaotic mass. Then, in John 1:1-3, the Bible declares, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Everything was made by the Word, and without the Word, nothing exists. This understanding reveals the limitless power of God’s Word. When you get a hold of the Word, you can do anything. Someone might ask, “If this is true, why are there so many in the world who are suffering? Why are so many in pain?” God’s response to the suffering and pain in the world is Jesus; and who is Jesus? He is the Word. We read that earlier in John 1:1-3. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” The Word heals, saves, and delivers. It brings hope, healing, restoration and answers to life’s toughest questions. If you’ve been sick and given up on by the doctors to die, what you need is to get a hold of the Word in your spirit. In Christ, you have an incorruptible, indestructible, imperishable life that destroys sickness, disease and infirmities. Get a hold of this reality and create your victory.
