The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his prolonged and unexplained absence following his participation in the 2025 BRICS summit held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The opposition party expressed its concern regarding what it termed the “mysterious disappearance” of the Nigerian leader, who reportedly went off the public radar immediately after the international summit ended. President Tinubu, according to the ADC, was not seen or heard from until five days later, when he quietly returned to Abuja without any official statement clarifying his whereabouts. Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, issued a statement on Sunday, insisting that the Nigerian presidency owes the citizens a clear explanation. “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu needs to be transparent about his activities and whereabouts since the conclusion of the BRICS summit,” the statement emphasized. “The summit concluded on July 7th, yet our president vanished from public view and reappeared in Nigeria after five days of complete silence—no statements, no briefings, no explanations.” The ADC condemned the lack of communication from the presidency, noting that leaders of other countries who attended the same summit had already returned to their nations, resumed governance, and briefed their citizens on the summit’s outcomes. “While other world leaders returned to their respective countries and continued with their national responsibilities, Nigeria’s President remained conspicuously absent,” Abdullahi remarked. “He did not inform Nigerians about the summit’s discussions, nor did he provide any rationale for his delayed return.” The party further asserted that this incident is part of a recurring pattern of secretive and unexplained movements by President Tinubu. “This opaque behavior is becoming habitual,” Abdullahi added. “Recall January 2024, when the President embarked on a so-called ‘private visit’ to France, which unexpectedly turned into a two-week disappearance. There were no official photos, press releases, or updates regarding that trip either.” Abdullahi criticized the presidency’s disregard for constitutional protocols during such absences. “In all these instances, there was neither a formal handover of power to the Vice President nor any notification to the National Assembly. What we are left with is an unsettling governance vacuum.” The ADC warned that these unexplained disappearances are particularly dangerous at a time when Nigeria is grappling with escalating insecurity, economic instability, and widespread public dissatisfaction. “At a time of national crisis, the country cannot afford a president who vanishes without any form of accountability,” the statement cautioned. “Such behavior erodes public confidence and portrays weak leadership. True leadership requires visibility and a commitment to transparency.” The party went further to accuse the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of consistently disregarding Nigerians by failing to provide credible information concerning the president’s movements. “When those in leadership go off-grid without accountability, it only deepens public distrust,” Abdullahi lamented. “The APC’s repetitive and dismissive excuses are an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians. What the people deserve is transparency—not half-baked cover stories.” As of the time of filing this report, the presidency has not responded to the allegations and concerns raised by the ADC.

Renowned Nigerian gospel singer, Gaise Baba, has stirred conversations online with his recent comments about Pastor Lawrence Oyor, the lead pastor of the Davidic Generation Church. In a candid interview, Gaise Baba described Oyor’s spiritual anointing as both dangerous and ridiculously powerful, emphasizing the unique impact of Oyor’s ministry. Gaise Baba made this statement during an engaging discussion about the remix of his popular gospel track, ‘No Turning Back’, featuring Pastor Lawrence Oyor. The collaboration, released in May 2025, has since captured the hearts of many Christians and music lovers across Nigeria and beyond. The remix has sparked widespread participation in an online dance challenge, turning it into an anthem on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. According to a report by LMSINT MEDIA, the track’s success was fueled not just by its powerful lyrics but also by the infectious energy that Pastor Lawrence Oyor brought to the remix. This blend of anointed music and vibrant social media engagement has solidified the song’s position in contemporary Nigerian gospel music. In an interview session with the respected media personality Chude Jideonwo, Gaise Baba was asked about his decision to collaborate with Lawrence Oyor for the remix of ‘No Turning Back’. Contrary to public assumption, Gaise Baba clarified that it was not his initiative to bring Oyor on board; rather, the pastor himself expressed interest in the project. “I didn’t reach out to him for the remix. Technically speaking, he approached me. He loved the song and when we met, he said, ‘Let’s do something about it.’ I was honestly surprised,” Gaise Baba revealed during the conversation. Gaise Baba went on to praise Pastor Oyor’s remarkable spiritual capacity. He acknowledged that Oyor carries a unique anointing that is both formidable and refined. “He has what I describe as a dangerous and ridiculous anointing. Coming from a rich heritage of deliverance ministry, Pastor Lawrence Oyor has not only inherited a powerful spiritual mantle but has also added wisdom to it,” Gaise Baba explained. He further elaborated that unlike unrefined spiritual gifts, Pastor Oyor’s anointing is distinctly packaged with wisdom, excellence, and refinement. “It is not just raw anointing anymore; it’s anointing that has been packaged with wisdom and excellence. That combination is extremely potent and impactful,” Gaise Baba added. This statement has sparked conversations within the Christian community, as many reflect on the significance of combining spiritual power with wisdom and strategic presentation in ministry. Renowned Nigerian music star, Davido, has seemingly verified speculations surrounding his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s anticipated defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). For weeks, speculations have been rife that Governor Adeleke might be planning to abandon the PDP platform for the APC ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State. This speculation gained momentum following a private meeting between Governor Adeleke, Davido, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu held in Lagos last month. According to LMSINT MEDIA, conversations about this possible political realignment began to surface shortly after the governor and his nephew, Davido, met with President Tinubu in a closed-door engagement at his residence in Lagos. Davido has now fueled the rumors through his newly dropped single titled “From Umbrella To Broom”, an apparent metaphor suggesting a switch from the PDP to the APC, as the umbrella represents the PDP’s symbol while the broom stands for the APC. The Afrobeats singer suggests in his lyrics that this prospective political migration is aimed at fostering progress and development in Osun State. He emphasized that aligning with the APC could bring positive change and growth for the state’s people. In his song, Davido croons: “New broom go sweep better. Ẹtan abẹla si ìjọba wa. From umbrella to the broom. Adegbe adafa, alagbada alefa.Eyan marun, mefa, kilode ta n suffer. New broom go sweep better.Them tori us propaganda from January to December we no gbadun NEPA. So all of our youths wan go America.” This translates to questioning why citizens should continue to endure suffering when, according to him, a “new broom” could bring improvements. He also criticizes the persistent propaganda and unreliable power supply, which he suggests are driving Nigerian youths to seek greener pastures abroad. In a significant and emotional development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated Vice President Kashim Shettima to immediately travel to the United Kingdom following the demise of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari. Shettima’s assignment is to personally accompany the late leader’s remains back to Nigeria for proper national rites. This directive from President Tinubu comes shortly after the official announcement confirming the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. According to sources close to the family, Buhari died in London on Sunday at approximately 4:30 PM, after battling a protracted illness that had kept him away from the public eye for some time. President Tinubu, who disclosed this national loss to the public, expressed his deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. Specifically, Tinubu reached out to Mrs. Aishat Buhari, the widow of the former President, offering words of comfort and national solidarity in this period of grief. The presidency has also issued an official order instructing Vice President Shettima to head to the UK immediately to oversee the dignified and respectful repatriation of Buhari’s body. This move underscores the administration’s commitment to honoring national leaders, both past and present, and ensuring that Buhari’s remains return home with the utmost dignity. Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away at 81, remains a significant figure in Nigeria’s history. He was democratically elected as the nation’s President in 2015 and was re-elected for a second term in 2019. Prior to his civilian leadership, Buhari had a notable military career, serving as Nigeria’s military Head of State from January 1984 until August 1985. In line with national mourning protocols, President Tinubu has declared that Nigerian flags should be flown at half-mast across the country and in all foreign missions as a mark of respect and tribute to the late former President Buhari. This moment marks a reflective period for Nigeria, as the nation comes together to honor the legacy of a leader whose impact spanned both military and democratic governance. The return of Buhari’s body from the United Kingdom will be met with official state protocols and ceremonies befitting his status. For further official statements and updates on the burial arrangements, Nigerians are advised to stay tuned to the official communication channels of the Presidency and the Federal Government.
Nigeria has been thrown into mourning following the official confirmation of the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The sad announcement was shared by his former aide, Bashir Ahmad, alongside his long-serving media spokesperson, Garba Shehu. In a concise statement released by Garba Shehu, he disclosed: “The family of the former president has announced the passing of Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, earlier today in a London clinic.May Allah grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus. Amin.” The shocking news has triggered a wave of reactions across Nigeria and internationally, given Buhari’s significant impact on the nation’s political landscape. Buhari, who served as Nigeria’s military Head of State in the 1980s and later returned as a democratically elected President between 2015 and 2023, was often a central figure in the country’s governance discussions. While the immediate cause of his death remains undisclosed, reports confirm that he passed away while undergoing medical care in London — a city he frequented for health-related issues during his presidency. Buhari’s health had been a topic of national concern in the past, especially during his prolonged medical trips abroad. Bashir Ahmad, who served as Buhari’s New Media aide, corroborated the statement shared by Shehu, ensuring that Nigerians and the world understand the gravity of the loss. The family of the late president has yet to provide further details regarding funeral arrangements or official ceremonies. As reactions continue to pour in from political allies, citizens, and international observers, the legacy of Muhammadu Buhari — both his military rule and democratic leadership — will undoubtedly be revisited and evaluated by historians and political analysts alike. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and pray that his soul finds peace in Aljannatul Firdaus
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome DSc DSc DD According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3). The Lord is wonderful. Think about all that He’s made us and given to us in Christ Jesus! Our opening scripture says He’s given us everything that pertains to life and godliness. That means everything you require to live triumphantly, in absolute dominion over circumstances, in health, prosperity and peace is all in you. This simply means that the quality of your life is not in the money you have, for all the money you’ll ever have is inside you. All the cars you’d ever drive, the clothes, houses, and everything you’d ever own and enjoy in this life is inside you. Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart….” The NIV says, “…He has also set eternity in the human heart….” If eternity is in your heart, then everything you need is in your heart, waiting to be released through your faith and actions. The quality of your life is in your heart. This helps us understand the words of the Master in Luke 6:45,“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” He shows us where good and evil things come from: your heart. He also shows us how they come —from your words. God, in Christ Jesus, has placed everything you need inside you. You’re like a seed, fully equipped with everything you need to become a fruit, a plantation, and a forest. But you must grow in the knowledge of God’s Word and speak accordingly: “Which things also we speak…” (1 Corinthians 2:13). That’s how you activate what God has deposited in your spirit. PRAYERDear Father, thank you for the revelation of your Word. I recognize that everything I require for life and godliness is already inside me. Therefore, I function from this vantage position of knowledge and strength as I chart my course in prosperity, victories and divine health, manifesting your righteousness, excellence and glory in all that I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Sporting CP president, Frederico Varandas, has publicly addressed his frustration after Viktor Gyokeres failed to report for the club’s pre-season training, intensifying speculations surrounding the Swedish striker’s anticipated transfer to Arsenal. Gyokeres, who is keen on securing a high-profile move to the Premier League, notably to Arsenal, was absent from Sporting’s pre-season training session held on Saturday evening. His absence comes amidst ongoing negotiations between Sporting CP and Arsenal over a potential summer transfer deal. Reports indicate that Arsenal tabled an official offer of €65 million, complemented by an additional €15 million in performance-based incentives. However, Sporting CP remains firm, demanding €70 million upfront, alongside a further €10 million in bonuses to sanction the departure of their prolific forward. Reacting to the situation, Varandas, in a statement cited by reputable football journalist Fabrizio Romano, stated: “If they don’t want to pay Viktor’s fair market value, we are very comfortable with that for the next three years. This strategy is also making it more complicated for the player [Gyokeres] to leave. Nobody is above the interests of the club. Whoever they are.” Varandas emphasized that Sporting CP is under no pressure, expressing confidence that the matter will be settled well before the conclusion of the current summer transfer window. Additionally, the Sporting CP president hinted at disciplinary action against Gyokeres for his absence. He revealed that the club is considering imposing a substantial fine on the Swedish international. Furthermore, Gyokeres may be compelled to tender a formal apology to the club for his conduct. The Arsenal transfer saga surrounding Viktor Gyokeres continues to unfold, with fans keenly watching if the Gunners will meet Sporting’s financial demands or risk missing out on the striker before the window closes.
