Nigerians Urged To Support Tinubu’s Re-election In 2027

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has appealed to Nigerians, especially the Northern region, to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and support his second term bid in 2027.

While speaking during the 2025 Nzeh Mada Festival held in Akwanga Local Government Area, the governor emphasized the importance of upholding regional commitments and ensuring political continuity. Governor Sule reiterated that regardless of differing opinions about Tinubu’s leadership style, the former Lagos State governor deserves the chance to complete his constitutionally-allowed eight years in office.

“We committed to zoning. After the North led for eight years, it’s only just that the South governs for the same period,” Governor Sule stated.

As the Chairman of the North Central Governors Forum, Sule highlighted past endorsements Tinubu received from influential governors who believed in his ability to transform Nigeria, just as he transformed Lagos into a major commercial hub.

“Despite the political tension then, we stood our ground and worked to elect Tinubu. Today, the same people who supported him now criticize him because they didn’t get their share,” he said.

Sule reaffirmed his stance that leadership should not be assessed based solely on temporary setbacks, urging Nigerians to be patient as long-term reforms take root.

“Whether President Tinubu is perceived as good or bad, we must support his continuity to complete eight years,” he added.

He also warned against political instability and the dangers of switching narratives for personal gain.

“We must stand by our earlier decisions and remain consistent. Leadership demands unity and patience,” the governor advised.

Tinubu on Working Visit in France

Currently, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in France on a two-week working vacation. He is expected to return after the Easter celebrations, according to Premium Times Nigeria.
