Zlatan Ibile Is An Up-and-Coming Artist, Portable Claims

Nigerian artist Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, recently made a bold statement, claiming that his fellow musician, Zlatan Ibile, is still an up-and-coming artist. According to Portable, Zlatan’s music style hasn’t yet resonated with wealthy individuals, making him less popular among this demographic.

In an interview on Echo Room, Portable revealed an encounter with a car dealer, who criticized him for engaging with Zlatan. The dealer pointed out that Zlatan was using Portable’s name to gain attention and had no real recognition in the industry. According to Portable, the dealer admitted to just recently hearing Zlatan’s name and was unfamiliar with his music.

Portable explained, “The car dealer told me not to pay attention to Zlatan. He said Zlatan was trying to chase clout with my name. He admitted that he didn’t even know any of Zlatan’s songs and had only started hearing his name recently.”

Portable further emphasized that many wealthy individuals are not familiar with the lyrics of some current artists. He questioned the quality of the music, noting, “What are they singing? Are those songs? You cannot even do call and response with it. Is that music? Are they joking?”
