In a successful search-and-rescue operation, the Zamfara State Police Command, in collaboration with the Community Protection Guard (CPG), has rescued six kidnapped individuals along the Anka-Gummi highway.
According to a press statement by the state police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yazid Abubakar, the operation took place on Friday when the joint security team noticed an abandoned ash-coloured Peugeot 206 vehicle by the roadside.

Search Operation and Victim Rescue
The suspicious vehicle raised an alert, prompting officers to investigate further. Sensing foul play and a possible case of abduction, the police and CPG team launched a coordinated search in the surrounding area.
The efforts led to the safe recovery of six kidnapped persons, who were later identified as:
- Bakiru Muhammad Masama
- Alyh DanTani Masama
- Aminu Aliyu Bukkuyum
- Ahmad Muhammad Masama
- Umar Sa’idu Ruwan Jema
- Shehu Mulluwa
All victims were unharmed and have been reunited with their families, the spokesperson confirmed.
