Xabi Alonso, the outgoing Bayer Leverkusen boss, has secured Real Madrid’s approval for three strategic signings before the start of the FIFA Club World Cup.

According to Madrid Zone (as cited by Marca), Alonso has submitted a request to bolster the Real Madrid squad, and the club’s management has given the green light to complete these deals before the tournament kicks off in June.

The Spanish tactician has reportedly targeted Trent Alexander-Arnold, a new left-back, and a central defender as his primary transfer objectives for the summer.

Alonso, who has already signed a three-year deal with the La Liga giants, is expected to take over from Carlo Ancelotti following the conclusion of the current season. His official managerial tenure is scheduled to begin with Real Madrid’s appearance at the FIFA Club World Cup.

A former midfield maestro, Alonso is no stranger to the Santiago Bernabéu, having played for Real Madrid during his illustrious playing career. The 43-year-old also wore the jerseys of Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Real Sociedad before transitioning into management.
