Former Manchester United centre-back, Rio Ferdinand, has shared his thoughts on England’s chances in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, predicting a tough and competitive run for the Three Lions.

During an interview with GOAL, Ferdinand explained that Ghana and Croatia are strong teams with the potential to create serious challenges for England. He noted that both nations possess physical strength, technical quality, and World Cup experience—factors that could make the group far from straightforward.

Despite acknowledging the difficulty, the retired England international still expressed confidence in England’s ability to top the group.
