Nigerian musical sensations Wizkid and Tems have achieved a remarkable feat by being the only African musicians included in Apple Music’s prestigious Top 500 Most Streamed Songs of All Time. This significant ranking was released as part of the celebration of Apple Music’s 10th anniversary, highlighting the most popular songs streamed on its platform over the past decade.
In addition, Tems gained recognition through her collaboration with American rapper Future and superstar Drake on the Grammy Award-winning hit Wait For U, which secured the 42nd spot among the most streamed songs of all time according to Apple Music.
At the pinnacle of the chart is British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, whose megahit Shape of You claims the Number 1 position, followed closely by The Weeknd’s record-breaking anthem Blinding Lights at Number 2. Coming in third place is Drake with his massive hit God’s Plan, further demonstrating his worldwide streaming dominance.
Rounding out the top 10 most streamed songs on Apple Music are Drake’s One Dance, Travis Scott’s Sicko Mode, Ed Sheeran’s Perfect, Chris Brown’s No Guidance, and Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy.
The milestone accomplishment of Wizkid and Tems once again underlines the global appeal of Nigerian artists and the impact of Afrobeats on the international music stage.
