A factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Robinson Ewor, has accused Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), of working as an insider mole for the All Progressives Congress (APC), aimed at weakening the opposition from within. Ewor believes Wike’s actions are part of a deliberate strategy to destabilize the PDP and thwart its ability to challenge the APC, both in Rivers State and nationally.
Ewor, speaking on The Morning Show hosted by Arise Television on Monday, emphasized that Wike can no longer be regarded as a member of the PDP. He pointed out that Wike had publicly pledged allegiance to the APC, further asserting that his actions in the PDP were aimed at dismantling the opposition party.
“I’ve expressed this before and I will reiterate: Nyesom Wike, the FCT minister, no longer belongs to the PDP. His presence in the PDP is a mission to bring it down and aid the destruction of opposition forces, not just in Rivers but across Nigeria,” Ewor declared.
The factional leader criticized Wike for interfering in PDP leadership affairs while holding a position in an APC-led federal government. Ewor particularly pointed out Wike’s insistence on keeping Sam Anyanwu as the national secretary of the PDP, despite his clear support for the APC’s agenda.
“Wike’s continued involvement in PDP matters is inappropriate. He has committed publicly to supporting the APC in the 2027 elections. He should focus on his role in the APC and leave PDP issues to those who are truly committed to the party,” Ewor added.
Wike’s role in the PDP has sparked tension within the party, with many members questioning his true loyalties and his long-term intentions. Last Friday, Wike also called for the removal of Siminalayi Fubara as the governor of Rivers State, further escalating the political drama.
