‘We Will Keep Insurgents Running’ – New Chief of Air Staff Vows Decisive Military Strategy

The newly confirmed Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has vowed to strengthen the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) with renewed discipline, advanced training, and strategic modernization — ensuring that insurgents are constantly “running without time to think or plan.”

During his confirmation appearance before the National Assembly on Wednesday, AVM Aneke emphasized that his leadership would focus on operational efficiency and intelligence-driven military power rather than brute force. “I use the word lethal in a professional sense,” he clarified, “because a man running from you will not have the time to plan to hurt you.”

He went on to highlight that his command philosophy would be guided by training, technology, safety, and strategic innovation, ensuring that the Nigerian Air Force operates at peak readiness to counter emerging threats.
