Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s narrow 2-1 triumph over Alanyaspor at GAIN Park, securing vital points in their Turkish Super Lig title race.
Galatasaray Battles Back to Victory
Chasing another league title, Galatasaray faced early trouble when Alanyaspor’s Tonny Vilhena opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. The visitors struggled to break through in the first half but found a way back in the 51st minute when Fidan Aliti inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.
Osimhen, displaying his striking prowess, delivered the winning goal in the 62nd minute with a powerful header, giving Galatasaray full control of the game. The Nigerian star had two more opportunities to extend the lead but was unable to convert before being substituted in the final moments of the match.
With this victory, Galatasaray now holds a seven-point cushion over rivals Fenerbahce, with ten matches left in the season. Having exited the Europa League, the Lions are fully committed to securing their third consecutive Super Lig title.
