The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a shift in the registration date for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), originally set to begin yesterday. The board has now rescheduled the registration process to commence on Monday, February 3, 2025.
Why the Postponement?
In an official statement released by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the examination body explained that the delay was necessary to implement critical adjustments to its registration templates. These changes are aimed at enhancing the efficiency and credibility of the registration process.
Additionally, JAMB revealed that a further review of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres was required after it was discovered that some centres had used fraudulent facilities to obtain approval.
Impact on Candidates and Stakeholders
JAMB also cited recent developments, including the suspension of certain law programmes in select universities, based on recommendations from the Council for Legal Education. The board acknowledged that this change might inconvenience candidates and other stakeholders and extended its sincere apologies for any disruption it may cause.
