UCL: Walcott Says PSG Should Be Disappointed with Narrow 1-0 Win Against Arsenal

1 minute, 11 seconds Read

Theo Walcott, the former England winger, believes Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will feel “disappointed” with their slim 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash.

The only goal of the match came from Ousmane Dembélé, who scored in the 4th minute at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night. Despite PSG controlling much of the game and creating numerous opportunities, they failed to capitalize on their chances, with several attempts thwarted by Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya.

Walcott suggested that while PSG secured the win, they missed an opportunity to establish a more commanding lead. He pointed out that had PSG managed a 2-0 scoreline, the tie would have been all but decided.

“Arsenal are still very much in the tie,” Walcott said in an interview with Amazon Prime. “A 2-0 advantage could have killed the tie, and PSG will certainly be disappointed it’s only a single goal.”

The second leg of the semi-final will take place next Wednesday at PSG’s home ground, Parc des Princes, with Arsenal having everything to play for.
