Raphinha Breaks Messi's Record In Barcelona’s 3-3 Draw Against Inter Milan

Barcelona’s forward Raphinha has made history by breaking a record once held by the club’s legendary former captain, Lionel Messi.

The Brazilian winger achieved this feat during Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan on Wednesday evening.

Raphinha not only scored a goal but also provided an assist in the thrilling 3-3 draw at the Olympic Stadium in Catalunya.

His performance was instrumental in Barcelona’s fightback from a 2-0 deficit, leveling the scoreline in front of their home crowd.

The 28-year-old’s key moment came in the 38th minute, when he assisted his team’s second goal with a perfectly cushioned header that set up Ferran Torres, who scored from close range.

This assist marked Raphinha’s 8th of the competition this season, to go along with 12 goals in 13 appearances.

His total of 20 goal contributions has now surpassed Lionel Messi’s club record of 19 goal contributions in a single Champions League campaign, a mark set during the 2011-12 season.

Raphinha was close to extending his record further in the second half with a powerful shot from outside the box that struck the crossbar.
