Trump Signs Executive Order to Cut Funding to PBS and NPR Over Alleged Bias

1 minute, 1 second Read

On Thursday, President Trump signed an executive order halting federal funding to Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and National Public Radio (NPR). This move came after allegations from Trump’s administration that these broadcasters engage in biased reporting.

In the executive order, President Trump directed the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and other relevant federal agencies to “cease Federal funding for NPR and PBS.”

The order also mandates these agencies to identify and eliminate any indirect public funding streams for the news organizations.

In a statement shared by the White House on X, the signing was announced with the claim that the outlets “receive millions from taxpayers to spread radical, woke propaganda disguised as ‘news.’”

LMSINT MEDIA reports that during a press briefing last month, President Trump had suggested he “would love to” cut funding to NPR and PBS.

According to reports, these broadcasters receive approximately half a billion dollars in public financing through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
