U.s. Immigration Arrests At Schools, Hospitals, And Churches

Trump Revokes Ban on Immigration Arrests at Sensitive Locations

17 / 100 SEO Score

The Trump administration has reversed previous restrictions, granting U.S. immigration and border officials the authority to arrest undocumented individuals at “sensitive” locations. These include places such as schools, churches, and hospitals.

This policy change overturns regulations that have been in place since 2011, which prohibited such actions to ensure sensitive areas remained safe havens for all individuals, regardless of immigration status. Under the Biden administration, these restrictions were further tightened to protect vulnerable groups.

However, the Department of Homeland Security, in defense of the new directive, stated, “Criminals will no longer be able to hide in America’s schools and churches to avoid arrest. The Trump Administration trusts law enforcement to use common sense in their duties.”

In addition to this reversal, another directive reinstates the ability for U.S. authorities to expedite the deportation of undocumented individuals who cannot prove they have resided in the country for over two years.

These policy changes signal a significant shift in the approach to immigration enforcement, prioritizing stricter controls and enforcement measures in sensitive areas.
