U.S. President Donald Trump has officially nominated Whitney Hermandorfer to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
This announcement was made on Thursday night via his Truth Social platform.
The 78-year-old Republican leader also unveiled a list of eight new appointees to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. These appointees include Betty Schwartz, Fred Marcus, Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz, Sid Rosenberg, Ariel Abergel, Barbara Feingold, Alex Witkoff, and Robert Garson.
In his official statement, Trump declared:
“I am pleased to announce the nomination of Whitney Hermandorfer to serve as a Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Whitney has been representing the great people of Tennessee in the Attorney General’s Office, where she has actively challenged federal government overreach in the courts.”
Trump also highlighted Hermandorfer’s background as a former Co-Captain of the Princeton University Women’s Basketball Team and praised her advocacy for girls’ and women’s sports.
He added:
“She has an impressive legal background, having worked with judges and justices who prioritize constitutional integrity and the rule of law — including Justice Samuel Alito and two Supreme Court Justices I appointed during my first term. Whitney is a determined advocate who brings renewed confidence to our legal system. Thank you, Whitney.”
In a follow-up message, Trump shared more details about his new appointments to the Holocaust Memorial Council, stating:
“It is my pleasure to announce the appointments of Betty Schwartz, Fred Marcus, Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz, Sid Rosenberg, Ariel Abergel, Barbara Feingold, Alex Witkoff, and Robert Garson to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.
This council holds a critical mission: to preserve the memories and stories of those whose lives were stolen in one of the darkest chapters of human history. NEVER FORGET!”
