In a strategic military operation, security forces have successfully recovered 900 rustled livestock following a fierce gun battle with armed bandits in Magamin Didi, Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to military intelligence, the Friday raid led to the retrieval of approximately 500 sheep and 400 cattle, which had been stolen by notorious bandit leaders, including Smally, Bashari Baba, and Jankwado. The security forces encountered heavy resistance but managed to overpower the criminal elements and reclaim the stolen livestock.
While no immediate reports of casualties or arrests were available, sources praised the gallantry of the troops in executing the mission. The rescued animals have been handed over to local authorities to facilitate their return to the rightful owners.
This operation is part of a broader security initiative aimed at dismantling bandit networks and restoring peace in Zamfara State. Military efforts remain ongoing to curb criminal activities and safeguard rural communities from further attacks.
