Transfer Update: Chelsea Secures Loan Move for Caleb Wiley to Watford

Chelsea Football Club has officially confirmed that their young talent, Caleb Wiley, has completed a loan move back to Championship side Watford for the entire upcoming season.

At just 20 years old, the United States international previously spent the latter part of last season at Watford’s Vicarage Road. During that spell, he made 10 appearances for the Hornets, showcasing his potential and gaining valuable experience in the English Football League Championship.

Wiley, who was signed by Chelsea in July 2024 from Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United, has been on a developmental trajectory since his arrival. Shortly after representing the USA at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the versatile defender remained in France, joining Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg on loan.

While at Strasbourg, Wiley featured in six matches, further honing his skills in the competitive French top-flight league. In February 2025, he transitioned to Watford on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, continuing his European football journey.
