Chelsea and Arsenal officially announced key transfer deadline day moves involving two of their players, Ben Chilwell and Reiss Nelson.
Chelsea Confirm Chilwell Exit
Chelsea, in a statement published on their official website on Monday, confirmed that Ben Chilwell has left the club to join RC Strasbourg on a permanent deal.
The England international originally joined Chelsea from Leicester City during the summer of 2020. Since then, the left-back became a reliable figure in the squad, scoring on his Premier League debut and cementing his place as a regular starter for the Blues.
Chilwell’s time at Stamford Bridge saw him contribute defensively and offensively, earning the admiration of both fans and pundits. His switch to Strasbourg marks a new chapter in his career as he seeks fresh opportunities abroad.
Arsenal Loan Out Nelson to Brentford
Meanwhile, Arsenal also made an announcement regarding Reiss Nelson, confirming that the forward has sealed a season-long loan move to Brentford.
Nelson previously impressed during his loan spell at Fulham, where his creativity and sharp performances caught attention. However, his progress was cut short by injury.
The 25-year-old winger has been associated with Arsenal for 17 years, rising through their academy ranks to the first team. Over that time, he has made 90 senior appearances, scoring eight goals and registering nine assists for the Gunners.
Arsenal’s decision to loan him to Brentford is seen as a move to give him consistent playing time in the Premier League, with hopes that he regains full form and fitness to compete at the highest level.
