In a shocking incident, a police inspector identified as Lawal Ibrahim, attached to the Kwali Division, was found dead at Palasa Guest Inn, Gwagwalada, Abuja. Reports indicate that the tragic event occurred after he allegedly engaged in a sexual encounter with a woman he had met online.
Timeline of Events
Inspector Ibrahim checked into the hotel on Wednesday night, accompanied by Maryam Abba, a woman he invited from Dutse, Jigawa State. According to sources, the pair reportedly had an intimate encounter that night and again in the early hours of Thursday.
Following their second encounter, Maryam noticed that Ibrahim’s breathing became irregular, and he became unresponsive. She attempted to revive him by sprinkling water but to no avail.
Raising the Alarm
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Maryam alerted the hotel manager, Danlami Palasa, who subsequently contacted the police. Authorities arrived at the scene and discovered Ibrahim’s lifeless body in the hotel room.
The deceased officer was transported to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where medical professionals confirmed his death. His remains have since been deposited in the hospital’s morgue for further examination.
Items Recovered from the Scene
In the hotel room, investigators found several items, including a watermelon, a suspected aphrodisiac, a phone charger, and Inspector Ibrahim’s police identification card.
Investigation Underway
Maryam Abba has been taken into custody by the police for questioning. A police officer at the Gwagwalada Division, speaking anonymously, confirmed the arrest and the ongoing investigation.
Efforts to reach SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, for further comments were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
