In a horrifying incident that has shaken the Ojo community in Lagos State, a man identified as Kamoru Ojo has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his daughter, Shakirat, which tragically led to her death.
The event reportedly took place on Thursday, April 3, 2025, following a heated disagreement between father and daughter. According to eyewitnesses, the confrontation escalated into a violent altercation, during which the 27-year-old victim lost consciousness and eventually died from the injuries inflicted.
In an apparent attempt to conceal the crime, the suspect allegedly buried Shakirat’s lifeless body in a shallow grave within the premises of their residence in Ojo.
The Lagos State Police Command became involved after concerned neighbors and relatives reported Shakirat missing. Officers from the Okokomaiko Division began a search that led to the discovery of the shallow grave on the property.
The Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that detectives from the homicide and crime scene units exhumed the body and transferred it to a public morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death.
“The suspect is currently in custody. The investigation is active, and further findings will be disclosed as we progress,” stated CSP Hundeyin.
This heartbreaking incident has raised serious concerns about domestic violence and family-related crimes, issues that continue to plague many communities across Nigeria.
