President Tinubu Signs Bill for New Federal University in Ogoni
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially approved the establishment of the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State, by signing the necessary bill into law.
The announcement was made on Monday by Bwala Daniel, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication.
“I am pleased to inform Nigerians that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assented to the bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology, Ogoni, in Rivers State,” Daniel stated.
A Step Towards Educational and National Development
This decision aligns with the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, which aims to correct historical inequalities and create inclusive institutions for balanced national growth.
Daniel also highlighted that this move follows the recent approval of another federal university in Southern Kaduna, demonstrating the government’s commitment to expanding access to higher education.
“To President Tinubu, there are no minority ethnicities in Nigeria. He believes in the opening lines of our national anthem, which emphasize unity despite tribal and linguistic differences,” Daniel emphasized.
