President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved automatic employment for the four children of the late Dr. Grace Adayilo, who until her passing served as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The announcement was made by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, during the funeral service of Dr. Adayilo held on Saturday at the National Ecumenical Centre, Abuja.

The well-attended service brought together senior government officials, civil servants, family members, and friends, all of whom gathered to pay their final respects to a woman described as a devoted leader and a beacon of selflessness.

Wike, speaking on behalf of the Federal Government and the FCT Administration, expressed profound grief over her demise, describing the loss as both painful and deeply felt. He praised her commitment to public service, emphasizing that her remarkable contributions to the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) will forever remain a legacy.

“On behalf of the FCT Administration and the President, I convey our deepest condolences to her family. Mr. President has directed that her four children should be given automatic employment to ease the burden on the family, considering that they have lost their breadwinner,” Wike said.

The minister highlighted Dr. Adayilo’s significant achievements during her career, particularly her dedication to ensuring the timely payment of workers’ salaries and benefits. He also acknowledged her reputation as a strong mobilizer within her community, a role that made her not just a civil servant but also a pillar of support to many.

Encouraging Nigerians to learn from her exemplary service, Wike noted that the uncertainties of life make it imperative to live with purpose, serve humanity with sincerity, and remain dedicated to God.

Throughout the ceremony, tributes poured in from colleagues and loved ones who described Grace Adayilo as a compassionate leader, a caring motherly figure, and a professional who placed the welfare of others above her own. Her legacy, they said, would continue to inspire future generations of civil servants and Nigerians at large.
