The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is dedicated to fostering youth empowerment and sustainable development, according to Nuru Kobi, a representative of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Abuja.

Speaking during the Hausa Fulani Youth Development and Orientation Forum’s (HAFYDOF) 2024 Annual Conference in Kaduna, Kobi highlighted the government’s initiatives targeting youth development.

He emphasized that NOA campaigns actively discourage the harmful “get-rich-quick” mindset among young people, encouraging them to embrace sustainable and responsible opportunities.

Kobi pointed out the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a critical resource for students facing financial challenges. “Over 70,000 students have already accessed NELFUND to continue their education,” Kobi noted, adding that many more students could benefit from this initiative to complete their studies.

The NOA, in collaboration with NELFUND, plans to extend outreach to remote areas across Nigeria, raising awareness about the program and its benefits.

In addition, Kobi discussed the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), a government initiative with a funding pool of approximately ₦110 billion. The NYIF is designed to support entrepreneurial and skill-driven youth, providing financial backing to help them create sustainable livelihoods.

Kobi encouraged Nigerian youths to take full advantage of these programs, which are tailored to alleviate economic hardship and promote long-term development.

Addressing broader concerns, HAFYDOF National President AbdulAziz Tibibi called for urgent solutions to the country’s multifaceted challenges, particularly in northern Nigeria, urging collective efforts to resolve these issues.
