The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has officially clarified why it decided to extend the enforcement deadline for the Tinted Glass Permit regulation on vehicles with tinted windows.
According to the NPF, the extension became necessary due to a remarkable increase in public compliance, as more vehicle owners have recently applied for permits through the approved platform.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Muyiwa Adejobi, issued this update in an official statement on Monday.
“This decision follows a significant increase in applications via the official platform, showing heightened public compliance,” Adejobi stated.
The FPRO also highlighted that this process is part of the broader strategy to balance citizen convenience with the country’s security requirements, especially in curbing criminal activities that sometimes involve vehicles with tinted windows.
Vehicle owners are therefore encouraged to complete their applications promptly to avoid enforcement measures once the new deadline expires.
