Tenant Fatally Attacked by Landlord’s Son During Heated Dispute in Ondo State

A young woman, identified as Joy Tale, aged 22, has tragically lost her life in an altercation allegedly involving her landlord’s son, Odunayo Olomolatan, 41, in Ode-Irele, located within Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State.

According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the fatal incident occurred on Monday, following a heated exchange between the tenant and the suspect.

The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the development in a statement issued to NAN. He explained that the suspect, Mr. Olomolatan, is currently in police custody at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Ode-Irele.

Ayanlade further stated that law enforcement authorities have commenced a thorough investigation to determine the underlying causes and full details of the incident.

“Yes, I can confirm to you that the young woman was allegedly attacked and killed during a dispute involving her and the landlord’s son,” said Ayanlade.
“The suspect is now in custody and the investigation is ongoing to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the woman’s death,” he added.

In response to the tragic event, Olajide Akinfe, the Chairman of Irele Local Government, has appealed to the public to remain calm and refrain from engaging in any retaliatory acts. He urged community members to trust the authorities to handle the matter appropriately.
